XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Mitsubishi EVO10 4WD 2008-2016

The Evo10’s S-AWC drivetrain will happily send drive to all four corners on a loose surface, but on a rutted forest stage or a snow-packed hillclimb the electronics are only as good as the dampers feeding them information. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is built for exactly that scenario on the Mitsubishi Evo10 4WD, chassis code MT20, 2008-2016: genuinely longer travel front and rear than a road-biased kit, giving the axles more room to move before the chassis runs out of suspension.

That extra buffer distance matters on this car specifically because the Evo10 is heavier and rides on a longer wheelbase than the Lancer Evolutions it replaced, so there’s more mass for the dampers to control when a wheel drops into a rut or lands off a crest. This kit is aimed at rally and rallycross use rather than fast-road commuting, and the build reflects that brief throughout.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2016 Mitsubishi Evo10 4WD

Longer front and rear travel keeps the Evo10’s wheels in contact with loose ground for longer before the suspension tops or bottoms out, which is what actually keeps the S-AWC system’s torque vectoring useful when the surface underneath it keeps changing. The dampers hold a larger volume of suspension oil and nitrogen gas than a standard road coilover, so heat built up over a long stage or a full day of snow driving has somewhere to go instead of cooking the oil and fading the damping partway through a run. Three external adjustment knobs let you retune compression and rebound between a fast gravel stage and a slower, more technical snow section without stripping the dampers down. On the road the trade-off is a firmer, more deliberate ride than a comfort coilover gives you, which is the correct compromise for an Evo10 that’s going to see loose surfaces rather than a motorway commute.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

XYZ Racing built the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow line for rally and rallycross use rather than tarmac circuit driving. The headline change over a standard coilover is travel: both the front and rear dampers are lengthened to create a bigger buffer zone, so the suspension can absorb a hard landing or a deep rut without the chassis taking the hit directly. Internally, the dampers carry a larger reserve of suspension oil and nitrogen gas than usual, which is what lets them keep working consistently across a long stage instead of overheating and tailing off as the miles add up. Each corner gets three external adjustment knobs, and because the internal oil passages are deliberately narrow, you may hear a faint noise from the damper over bigger bumps – that’s the oil moving through the small passage as designed, not a fault. It’s a kit built around distance and durability on loose ground – forest stages, snow rallies, or a rallycross circuit’s jumps and compressions – rather than outright single-lap pace on tarmac.

Fitment for the Mitsubishi Evo10 4WD (2008-2016)

This Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is specced for the Mitsubishi Evo10 4WD, chassis code MT20, covering the full 2008 to 2016 production run. The 4WD drivetrain and S-AWC hardware carry over across that span, so the fitment doesn’t change year to year within the range. Confirm your build year falls inside 2008-2016 before ordering, since earlier Lancer Evolution generations use different mounting points.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
