XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Mitsubishi EVO10 4WD 2008-2016

The Evo X’s S-AWC system was built to stop the car sliding, not start it. Active yaw control, a rear limited-slip differential and a torque-vectoring centre diff on the MT20 chassis all work to correct a slide the instant it begins, which is exactly the wrong behaviour if competitive drifting is the plan. XYZ Racing’s Drift Spec coilover is set up to work against that: a specific ride-height and bump-stroke combination that unsettles the rear axle faster than the drivetrain electronics can react, letting the EVO10 4WD hold an angle instead of hauling itself straight.

This is a spec for owners running the 2008-2016 Mitsubishi EVO10 4WD in drift practice or competition, not a fast-road compromise dressed up in a different name. Where a fast-road coilover on this car is tuned to help the AWD system do its job, this one is tuned to interrupt it.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2016 Mitsubishi EVO10 4WD

Dropping the ride height on a shorter, calibrated bump stroke shifts how quickly the front and rear axles load and unload through a transition, which is the difference between a clean initiation and a car that just understeers wide. On a chassis carrying the 4B11’s iron block and the full S-AWC hardware up front, that front-end weight has to be managed the moment you turn in – this setup is built to get the rear stepping out before the nose has fully loaded. The result on track or at a drift day is a car that answers steering and throttle inputs into a slide rather than fighting to stay straight, with the ride height locked at a point that keeps the geometry consistent run after run.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built this range specifically around drift competition rather than adapting a road or circuit coilover to the job. The bump stroke and spring combination are set to help the car’s body roll and transfer weight in a way that makes it easier to hold a controlled angle at speed, rather than resist it. Lowering the ride height to the range this kit is designed around is what unlocks that behaviour – run it too high or too low and the intended handling character doesn’t show up. It’s a setup aimed squarely at getting predictable, repeatable rotation out of a chassis that wasn’t originally engineered to slide.

Fitment for the Mitsubishi EVO10 4WD (2008-2016)

Built for the MT20-chassis Mitsubishi EVO10 4WD across the full 2008-2016 production run. As an AWD-specific application, confirm your car retains the standard S-AWC driveline before ordering, since the bump stroke and ride-height calibration are matched to that drivetrain layout.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
