XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz C CLASS W204 6 CYL (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2007-2014

The W204 C-Class’s factory setup was never built for a gravel stage, and if your car’s six-cylinder engine bay ended up on an electronically-damped C-Class chassis, the OEM damper control unit has no idea what to do with a loose, shifting surface. XYZ Racing’s Gravel Rally coilover replaces that logic entirely with a mechanical damper and the cancellation kit that lets the C-Class run without the factory electronic damping system fighting the new hardware.

This is a rally-specific build, not a road or circuit coilover pushed into service off-tarmac. On a heavy, six-cylinder W204 the extra mass over the front axle makes bump absorption on rutted or washboard gravel a real concern, and that’s precisely the load case this damper is designed around.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2014 Mercedes Benz C Class

The inverted tube design puts the larger tube at the top, which keeps the working seal better protected from the sandstone, snow and silt that a rally stage throws at it – relevant on a car this size, where the front strut is already carrying a six-cylinder engine’s weight. Long stroke and a long spring work together to absorb chassis vibration from high-speed bouncy surfaces without transmitting it straight into the chassis, and to bear the extreme G-force loading the W204’s structure sees mid-corner on loose surfaces. Every spring rate on offer has been run by a rally racing team rather than calculated on a bench, so the rates you select are ones proven to hold up under real stage loads rather than theoretical ones. For a modified Rr Integrated chassis specifically, the cancellation kit means you’re not fighting error codes or a damper ECU trying to reassert factory logic over a gravel-tuned setup.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built this damper specifically for rally and rallycross use, where road surface conditions are the most aggressive of any motorsport discipline – which makes the shock absorber arguably the single most stressed component in the car during a gravel event. The inverted tube layout is a deliberate response to that: sandstone, snow and silt all attack a conventional strut differently, and inverting the tube orientation changes how the unit sheds and resists that contamination. The long-stroke, long-spring architecture gives the damper more travel to work with before it tops or bottoms out on a rutted stage, which matters when the surface underneath is constantly changing rather than the smooth, predictable tarmac a circuit coilover is tuned for. Spring rate selection isn’t a lab exercise here – XYZ Racing’s rally team has tested the rate options directly, so the numbers on the spec sheet reflect what actually survives a stage rather than a calculated ideal.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz C Class W204 6 CYL (modified Rr Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2007-2014)

This kit is built for the W204-chassis C-Class, six-cylinder variant, across the 2007-2014 production run. It’s specified for cars with a modified, rear-integrated suspension layout and includes the cancellation kit required to run the coilover on a chassis originally fitted with electronic damping control. Confirm your car matches the modified Rr Integrated specification before ordering, as the standard electronically-damped W204 rear end uses a different mounting arrangement.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
