XYZ Racing Top Sport Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz B CLASS W247 φ53 (Rear Twist- beam Suspension) 2019-2026

The W247 B-Class carries its weight higher than the A-Class hatch it’s built from, and the rear twist-beam axle means there’s no independent geometry back there to lean on when body control gets sloppy under load. That combination – taller body, simpler rear axle – is exactly why a stock B-Class rolls and wallows the moment you push past a school-run pace.

XYZ Racing’s Top Sport coilover is built for that gap between daily use and the odd track day, not full competition. It drops the centre of gravity, tightens the twist-beam’s movement, and gives the B-Class a front end that turns in instead of pushing wide.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Mercedes Benz B Class W247

Damping force is raised 30-50% over a street setup, or the spring rate is stepped up by around 2kg/mm – either way, the goal is controlling the extra mass and height this platform carries without turning the ride brutal. On the broken tarmac and speed humps typical of UK B-roads, that extra damping absorbs the hit instead of letting it translate into body float, which matters more on a twist-beam rear than on a multi-link setup where geometry can mask a soft shock. The 53mm shock body gives the internals room to control oil flow under repeated compression, so the rear axle doesn’t wallow through consecutive corners the way the factory dampers do once they’re worked hard. Net result: less nose-dive under braking, less rear-end pitch over crests, and tyre contact that holds through a session instead of degrading lap by lap.

About the Top Sport coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Top Sport range’s valving directly from its own racing programme rather than a generic street tune. The core idea is straightforward: increase damping force by 30-50% above a comfort-biased street setting, or add roughly 2kg/mm to the spring rate, so the suspension can absorb sharp impacts – potholes, expansion joints, kerb strikes – without the shock body bottoming or the chassis pitching. That extra control suppresses body movement through the impact and keeps the tyre loaded rather than skipping, which is where the traction gain comes from. It’s tuned as a dual-purpose set-up: firm enough for an aggressive drive or a track day, still usable as the car’s everyday suspension.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz B Class W247 (2019-2026)

Built specifically for the W247-generation B-Class (chassis code ME47) across the 2019-2026 production run, matched to the rear twist-beam suspension layout fitted to this model – not the independent rear used on other Mercedes platforms. Confirm your registration falls within this year span before ordering.
