XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Ford FOCUS HATCHBACK (Rear Multi-Link Suspension) Modified Rear Integrated 2019-2026

The Mk4 Focus hatchback’s rear multi-link axle is one of the better pieces of engineering in the hot-hatch class, but the factory dampers are matched to that geometry for comfort, not repeated hard use. Under sustained cornering loads the standard set-up allows enough body movement to blur what the rear axle is actually capable of, and that gap only widens once you start doing laps rather than commutes.

XYZ Racing’s Racing Spec coilover is built to close that gap for Focus owners running the car on circuit or at time-attack pace. It replaces the factory strut and damper as a complete unit, front and rear, matched to this Focus’s multi-link rear architecture rather than adapted from a generic hatchback template.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Ford Focus

Fitted to a 2019-2026 Focus, the Racing Spec coilover sharpens the connection between throttle and rear-axle response that the multi-link layout is designed to deliver. Ride height drops to a track-appropriate stance, lowering the centre of gravity and reducing the body roll that eats into rear grip mid-corner. Damping firms up through both bump and rebound, so the rear axle stays loaded and predictable when you’re trail-braking into a corner rather than pattering over kerbs. The stiffer overall set-up also cuts the front-end dive under braking that a nose-heavy hatchback like the Focus is prone to, which keeps steering response consistent from turn-in to exit. The net result on a 2019-2026 Focus is a car that changes direction with less delay between input and axle movement – exactly what repeated laps expose in the standard suspension.

About the Racing Spec coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Racing Spec damper specifically for circuit use, with base settings drawn from the company’s direct involvement in WTCC competition rather than road-biased assumptions carried over from a fast-road product. That racing-derived valving is what separates this coilover from a firmer road kit – it’s tuned around the loads and heat cycling of actual track sessions, not a stiffer ride for the school run. For Focus owners running more aggressive modifications – wider tyres, bigger brakes, factory-style aero, or anything that changes how load moves through the chassis – XYZ Racing can also build a custom-specified damper. You supply the detail on what else has been changed on the car and which circuit it’s aimed at, and the shock absorber gets built around that spec rather than a one-size-fits-all track setting.

Fitment for the Ford Focus (2019-2026)

This kit is built for the Ford Focus Hatchback, chassis code FO27, covering the 2019 to 2026 model years with the rear multi-link suspension layout. It’s matched to the Modified Rr Integrated configuration for this generation, so confirm your Focus sits within that build spec before ordering.
