XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — BMW 7 SERIES E65 12 CYL 2001-2008

The E65’s V12 sits well ahead of the front axle, and that mass loads the front tyres harder under trail-braking than any six-cylinder 5 Series of the same era. Factory-fit self-levelling air suspension keeps the ride comfortable at the expense of body control, which is exactly the trade-off that shows up the moment you point a 760i at a circuit rather than a motorway.

The XYZ Racing Circuit Master coilover swaps that setup for a fully adjustable, height-adjustable platform built around sustained circuit lap-time work. For a car this size and this heavy up front, the point of the change is control: keeping the nose settled through direction changes and stopping the rear from wallowing under load transfer once the air struts and their sensors are out of the picture.

What this coilover does for your 2001-2008 Bmw 7 Series E65 12 CYL

Removing the air suspension in favour of a coilover platform gives you a fixed, adjustable ride height instead of one that hunts to a target as load shifts, which matters on a car that carries a V12 over the front wheels. Independent ride height and damping adjustment let you drop the centre of gravity and firm up the front end specifically to fight the nose-heavy weight bias under braking. With 9,720 damping combinations on tap through the unit’s adjustment knobs, you can run the front noticeably stiffer than the rear to control dive without turning the ride brittle everywhere else. That range also means the same kit can be wound back toward a fast-road setting for the days this E65 isn’t on track.

About the Circuit Master coilover

XYZ Racing built the Circuit Master as its circuit-focused platform, developed and run by XYZ’s own racing teams on international tracks rather than tuned purely on paper. The headline figure is 9,720 distinct damping combinations, delivered through three external adjustment knobs so front and rear compression and rebound can be set independently rather than as one blunt setting. The damper uses a small-oil-passage design internally; over sharp bumps this can produce a faint noise as oil moves through the restricted passage, which is a normal characteristic of the design rather than a fault, and it’s a trade-off XYZ accepts in exchange for the fine-grained control the small passage enables. It’s built for circuit-track use first, with the adjustment range to back off toward road use when needed.
