XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — BMW 4 SERIES G82 M4 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2021-2026

The G82 M4’s S58 twin-turbo straight-six sends serious torque through a car that weighs in well over 1,700kg, and BMW’s factory answer to controlling that mass is a network of electronically controlled dampers tuned for smooth B-roads and track tarmac, not the ruts, crests and washboard surfaces of a rally stage. Running a car this heavy off-road on the factory M Adaptive setup means fighting electronics that were never calibrated for loose surfaces.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover kit for the BMW 4 Series G82 M4 replaces that system outright. This fitment bundles the cancellation kit needed to remove the factory electronic damping control from the equation entirely, so the car runs on dampers built for exactly this job – gravel and rallycross work where the surface changes character corner to corner.

What this coilover does for your 2021-2026 BMW 4 Series G82 M4

With the G82’s weight riding on an inverted-tube damper design, load transfer under braking and through fast direction changes stays controlled instead of overwhelming a passive setup. The long stroke and long spring combination gives the M4 the wheel travel to absorb the kind of chassis vibration that a stiff, tarmac-biased spec would transmit straight into the structure – sandstone ruts, packed snow, loose silt, all handled without the suspension bottoming out or skating over the surface. On fast, bumpy gravel sections the extra travel keeps the tyre loaded and working rather than skipping, which matters directly for a car putting S58 power down through the rear axle. Through hard cornering, where a heavy coupe like the M4 generates real G-force at the rear subframe and diff mounts, the setup is built to bear that load without the spring and damper folding under it. Removing the factory EDC hardware also strips out a layer of electronic intervention that has no business trying to second-guess a rally stage.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Gravel Rally range is built specifically for rally and rallycross use, where road surface is the most punishing condition XYZ engineers for across their entire range. The inverted-tube layout was chosen so the damper can be tuned differently depending on what it’s meeting – sand, snow, or fine silt all load a damper in different ways, and the construction is built to cope with that variation rather than a single road-going compromise. The long stroke and long spring combination exists to soak up chassis vibration and to survive the aggressive hits that come from attacking a bumpy stage at speed, while still bearing the extreme cornering loads a rally car generates on loose surfaces. Every spring rate in the range has been set and validated by an active rally racing team rather than calculated on a bench, which is the basis for the rates supplied with this kit.

Fitment for the BMW 4 Series G82 M4 (2021-2026)

This kit is built for the G82-chassis BMW M4, model years 2021 to 2026, and is specified for the modified rear-integrated suspension layout with the electronic damping cancellation kit included. Confirm your car matches the modified rear-integrated specification before ordering, since the cancellation hardware is matched to that configuration.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
