XYZ Racing Pro Rally Coilovers — BMW 4 SERIES F83 M4 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2014-2020

The F83 M4’s double-joint front axle and five-link rear were set up by BMW for smooth tarmac and a convertible shell that already carries more weight than the coupe. Neither was built to survive a compression on a rutted gravel stage at the kind of speed the S55’s twin-turbo straight six is capable of. XYZ Racing’s Pro Rally coilover exists for that exact mismatch, giving an F83 running on loose surfaces the travel and adjustability its factory M Adaptive suspension was never designed to offer.

This is the professional-installation variant in the range, built to go in after the rear of the shell has been opened up and re-integrated to accept new damper mounting points, rather than bolting straight into the original chassis locations. That distinction matters once ride height and suspension travel move well outside road-car parameters, and it’s why this fitment is listed separately from a direct-fit kit.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2020 Bmw 4 Series F83 M4

On loose surfaces the F83’s rear-wheel-drive layout and S55 torque put a lot of load through the rear axle the moment you’re back on the throttle out of a corner, and a road-biased spring and damper combination will run out of usable travel long before the engine runs out of ideas. Because this kit is fitted to a rear end that has already been modified to integrate it, ride height and geometry stay correct once you’ve moved well past factory settings, instead of fighting mounting points that were never meant to see this kind of travel. That keeps the front axle settled under braking into a stage and lets the rear stay planted as the car rotates on loose surfaces, rather than the axle bottoming out or the geometry going vague mid-corner. For a heavier convertible shell carrying the S55’s power, that control over how the suspension loads and unloads is what separates a car that can actually compete from one that’s just been lowered.

About the Pro Rally coilover

XYZ Racing splits its rally-spec gravel and snow suspension into two distinct build types, and the Pro Rally is the professional one. The amateur route bolts a rally coilover straight into the original chassis mounting points, which is simpler but limits how far ride height, geometry and travel can move away from the road car. The professional route, which this kit follows, is only fitted once the bodyshell itself has been modified to take it, which is exactly what "Modified Rr Integrated" describes on this F83 fitment. That approach is the one used by competition teams running at the top level of gravel and snow rally, where the suspension has to be designed into the car rather than adapted to fit around it. For an F83 M4 being converted for stage work rather than daily use, that means the kit is engineered around a rear end purpose-modified to carry it, not a compromise between road-car geometry and rally-car demands.

Fitment for the Bmw 4 Series F83 M4 (Modified Rr Integrated) (2014-2020)

This kit is listed against chassis code BM95, covering the F83 M4 built between 2014 and 2020. It’s specific to the modified, rear-integrated bodyshell configuration rather than a standard direct-fit F83, so confirm your car’s rear end has already had the mounting points reworked before ordering this fitment.
