XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — BMW 4 SERIES F83 M4 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2014-2020

The F83 M4 convertible carries noticeably more weight over the rear axle than the coupe, and its "Modified Rr Integrated" chassis code reflects the reinforced rear subframe built to carry that folding-roof mechanism. Add the S55 twin-turbo six’s torque delivery into the mix and, the moment a loose surface gives way underneath it, that rear-heavy balance is exactly what unsettles the car first. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover exists for that specific failure point.

This is a rally and rally-cross-derived spec, not a circuit-only setup, adapted here to the F83 M4’s own geometry and weight distribution. Where a road or track damper is tuned around consistent grip, this one is built around the opposite: broken surfaces, sudden compressions and a car that needs to stay planted when the tarmac stops behaving like tarmac.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2020 BMW 4 Series F83 M4 (Modified Rr Integrated)

Extended front and rear travel gives both axles more room to move before the damper bottoms out over a rut, compression or snow-packed ridge – the kind of hit that would slam a shorter-travel unit straight into its bump stop. A larger internal volume of suspension oil and nitrogen gas keeps the damping characteristics consistent over a long stage rather than fading as the oil heats up, which matters on the F83 given how much heat the rear end already generates under sustained lateral load. Three external adjustment knobs let you retune the front and rear independently as conditions change from gravel to packed snow to mixed surface, so the car isn’t locked into one setting for the whole event. The net result on this chassis is a rear axle that stays controlled under the M4’s own torque rather than stepping out the instant traction drops.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

XYZ Racing built the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover specifically for rally and rally-cross running, where sustained high-speed work over broken, low-grip surfaces punishes a damper in ways tarmac never does. Travel front and rear is extended well beyond XYZ’s circuit-spec ranges, giving the axle a genuinely bigger buffer before the unit tops or bottoms out over ruts and compressions. Internally it carries a larger charge of both suspension oil and nitrogen gas than a standard road or track coilover, and that extra fluid mass is what stops oil temperature climbing to the point where damping fades after repeated hard use. Damping is set via three knobs feeding oil through a deliberately small-bore passage; over sharp impacts this can produce a faint clicking as oil moves through the restriction, which is normal and not a fault. The whole unit is built to absorb the kind of repeated heavy hits a gravel or snow stage throws at a suspension, without the fade that shortens the working life of a lesser damper.

Fitment for the BMW 4 Series F83 M4 (Modified Rr Integrated) (2014-2020)

Built for the BM95 chassis code covering the F83 M4 (Modified Rr Integrated) from 2014 to 2020. The "Modified Rr Integrated" spec accounts for this chassis’s reinforced rear subframe, so front and rear valving is matched to the convertible’s actual weight distribution rather than the coupe’s.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
