XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 4 SERIES F82 M4 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2014-2020

The F82 M4’s S55 twin-turbo straight six sends over 400bhp through the rear axle alone, and it arrives in a rush that unsettles factory suspension the instant you ask for opposite lock. Body roll and squat under trail-braking eat into the tyre’s slip angle at exactly the moment you need it, turning a controlled drift into an unwanted snap.

XYZ Racing’s Drift Spec coilover is built for competitive drifting, not fast-road comfort. It drops ride height with a longer bump stroke than a standard road-biased kit, keeping the body flat and the geometry stable through the transition into a slide, so the car holds the angle you put it at rather than fighting you back to grip.

What this coilover kit does for your 2014-2020 BMW 4 Series F82 M4

Dropping ride height on the F82 M4 lowers the centre of gravity and tightens body control during the weight transfer that initiates a drift, so the rear stays predictable as the S55’s torque overwhelms the tyres. The extended bump stroke gives the suspension somewhere to go when the car unloads mid-slide, instead of crashing through the travel and upsetting the line. That stability shows up as more consistent entry speed and a cleaner, more repeatable angle run after run, which matters more in competition than outright ride comfort. On a chassis already quick to snap into oversteer once the Active M Differential locks up hard, a kit built around drift-specific bump control keeps that transition manageable rather than sudden.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec range is XYZ Racing’s competition-focused line, built around one idea across every application: stabilise the body through extreme yaw angles so the driver can hold a controlled slide instead of reacting to one. Ride height drops further than the fast-road ranges, and the bump stroke is lengthened specifically for the load spikes a drift car sees mid-transition, when the suspension has to absorb a sudden change of direction without upsetting the car’s line. Spring and damping rates are set up for sustained lateral load rather than single-corner grip, the opposite priority to a circuit-biased kit. The result is suspension that lets the driver settle into an angle and hold it, rather than one that keeps correcting body movement underneath them.
