XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES G20 (2WD/4WD) 4/6 CYL (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping 2018-2026

The G20 3 Series threw a curveball at anyone fitting aftermarket dampers: cars specced with factory electronic damper control need that system electronically cancelled before a fixed-valve coilover can actually do its job, which is exactly why this kit ships as a cancellation-kit variant rather than a bolt-on afterthought. Pair that with the G20’s stiffer CLAR-platform shell and the option of 2WD or 4WD drivetrains, and you’ve got a chassis that responds differently to stage-surface abuse depending on how power reaches the road.

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover is built for exactly that surface: broken tarmac, crested jumps, and the kind of mid-corner compressions that punish a soft factory setup. On a G20, whether it’s a 4-cylinder 320i-generation car or a 6-cylinder 340i/M340i, the goal is the same – keep the wheel loaded and the chassis settled when the road surface stops being smooth.

What this coilover brings to your 2018-2026 BMW 3 Series G20

Fitted to a G20, this kit is set up to absorb the hit from a big compression – a crest, a pothole mid-braking zone, a stage’s mid-corner lip – without transmitting that shock straight into the body and unsettling the car’s line. That matters more on 4WD cars, where a jolt through the front axle can upset torque distribution mid-corner, and on 2WD variants, where rear-end traction off a bump is the difference between a clean exit and a snap of oversteer. Suppressing shock body movement through a rough section keeps the contact patch working rather than skipping, which is where the tyre traction gain actually comes from. For the electronic-damping cars, the cancellation kit removes the factory EDC control entirely so the coilover’s own valving is what’s making every call, corner to corner.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Tarmac Rally line specifically around sealed-stage tarmac events, where the surface is technically paved but rarely smooth. The damper is tuned to soak up the impact of uneven pavement and absorb the jolt of larger compressions without kicking that energy back into the body, which is what keeps the car settled and the tyre loaded through repeated hits rather than skating over them. That control is what XYZ frame as the stability behind "perfect handling" on stage – not a single big number, but the damper staying consistent hit after hit. The valving and spring settings on this kit come directly out of XYZ’s own Tarmac Rally programme, carried over rather than adapted from a road-going base setup, which is the difference between a coilover that copes with rough tarmac and one that’s actually built around it.

Fitment for the BMW 3 Series G20 (2018-2026)

This kit is built for the G20-generation 3 Series, chassis code BM107-C, covering both 2WD and 4WD drivetrains across the 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine range from 2018 to 2026. The cancellation-kit variant is specifically for cars fitted with factory electronic damping control (EDC) – check your build spec before ordering the standard non-cancellation kit instead.
