XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES F80 M3 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2014-2018

Point an F80 M3 down a loose gravel stage and the factory adaptive dampers are working against you before you’ve left the start line – they’re calibrated for tarmac body control, not for a wheel dropping into a rut at speed. The S55’s twin-turbo torque still wants to put power down through the rear axle regardless of surface, which makes chassis control over broken ground the deciding factor between a fast stage and a spin.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover replaces that road-biased setup with a damper built for exactly this discipline. This is the cancellation-kit variant for F80 M3s running the rear-integrated electronic damping system, so the factory module is bypassed rather than fighting a mechanical coilover for control of ride height and damping force.

What this coilover brings to your 2014-2018 BMW 3 Series F80 M3

On loose surfaces the biggest gain is wheel control through compression events – sandstone ridges, washboard sections, and the compressions rally organisers seem to seek out. Long-stroke travel keeps the tyre following the ground instead of skipping across it, which matters directly for how much of that S55 torque you can actually use out of a loose-surface corner. Long springs absorb the chassis vibration that high-speed rough-road running generates, taking load off the subframe and driveline mounts rather than transmitting every impact straight into the chassis. Through fast direction changes on gravel, where cornering loads spike hard and briefly, the setup is built to hold the car composed rather than let the rear step out unannounced.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This damper is built specifically for rally and rallycross use, where road surfaces swing between sandstone, snow and silt within a single stage – arguably the most demanding condition set any of XYZ’s coilover ranges are asked to cover. An inverted tube layout is used so the damper itself can adapt to that surface variation without a redesign per event type. Stroke length and spring length are both extended beyond a road- or circuit-biased coilover, giving the wheel the travel it needs to absorb chassis vibration and repeated high-speed impacts from broken terrain. Spring rates are not generic road settings – they’ve been run and adjusted by an actual rally racing team, which is the difference between a coilover that survives one gravel event and one that’s actually tuned for the class.

Fitment for the Bmw 3 Series F80 M3 (2014-2018)

Built for chassis code BM104-C, covering the F80 M3 built between 2014 and 2018. This is the modified rear-integrated, electronic-damping-cancellation-kit configuration – confirm your car runs the factory adaptive M suspension before ordering this variant rather than the standard Gravel Rally kit.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
