XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES E90 M3 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2007-2011

The E90 M3’s factory Electronic Damping Control was calibrated to keep the S65 V8’s nose-heavy mass settled through fast, dry-line corners – not to hold a car at opposing lock through a sustained slide. XYZ Racing’s Drift Spec coilover pulls that electronic damper hardware out of the equation entirely, and this cancellation-kit variant removes the EDC wiring from the loop so the ECU stops looking for a damper solenoid that’s no longer there.

That matters more on a saloon-bodied M3 than it does on lighter, shorter-wheelbase drift platforms. The E90’s extra length and the V8’s weight sitting well back of the front axle mean the rear end needs predictable, repeatable behaviour once you’re past the grip limit, not just stiffness for stiffness’s sake.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2011 BMW 3 Series E90 M3

Once fitted, the car settles into a slide rather than snapping through one – the coilover is set up to control body movement through the transition from grip to yaw, which is the moment most E90 M3s on stock or generic aftermarket suspension get caught out by the saloon’s extra mass shifting late. Ride height drops as part of the install, and getting that drop right against the correct bump stroke is what lets you hold an angle rather than just initiate one. For a chassis built on the fast, sweeping lines of a 4.0-litre V8 saloon rather than a stripped-out coupe, that predictability under sustained lateral load is the difference between a clean run and a spin.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Drift Spec range for competition drifting specifically, not as a dual-purpose track-and-drift compromise. The core job is stabilising the body of the car through high-speed turn-in so the driver can hold a clean, repeatable angle instead of fighting body roll mid-slide. Ride height reduction is deliberate and calculated against bump stroke rather than dropped arbitrarily low – set it up correctly and the car’s drift control sharpens noticeably compared with a stock or road-biased setup. It’s a purpose-specific tool: engineered around the demands of sustained opposite-lock driving rather than single-corner grip, which is exactly the discipline the E90 M3’s chassis code BM89-C variant here is aimed at.

Fitment for the BMW 3 Series E90 M3 (2007-2011)

This kit is built for the BM89-C chassis code covering the E90 M3 saloon from 2007 to 2011. The "Modified Rr Integrated" specification accounts for the rear suspension’s integrated mounting on this generation, and the cancellation kit is specifically for cars originally optioned with Electronic Damping Control, replacing that system rather than running alongside it.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
