XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES E90 M3 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2007-2011

The E90 M3’s factory rear-integrated subframe was tuned around smooth tarmac and a flat, high-grip apex, not a washboard gravel stage, which is the gap this Gravel Rally coilover kit is built to close on the modified rear-integrated version of the chassis. Fit it and the geometry stops chasing circuit lap times and starts absorbing repeated, unpredictable compressions – the load pattern a loose-surface stage actually throws at a car.

For a 2007-2011 3 Series E90 M3 campaigned in rallycross or a gravel event, the job description is nothing like what the factory suspension was set up for. Grip comes and goes corner to corner, ruts and washouts hit the wheel without warning, and the dampers have to keep working through hit after hit rather than one clean apex. This kit is built around that reality, not a smooth circuit.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2011 Bmw 3 Series E90 M3 (Modified Rr Integrated)

On loose surfaces, the biggest gain is control after the wheel has already left the ground. The inverted tube design keeps the shock shaft protected from stones and grit thrown up by a gravel stage, which matters on the modified rear-integrated E90 M3 where the rear axle is doing the bulk of the traction work under power. Long stroke travel and a correspondingly long spring give the axle somewhere to go when a compression hits harder than expected, instead of the suspension topping or bottoming out and unsettling the car mid-corner. That extra range also lets the chassis absorb high-frequency vibration from a rutted surface without transmitting all of it straight into the body and the driver’s hands. Under hard cornering load, the setup is built to hold its geometry rather than fold, so the rear end stays predictable as G-force builds through a fast gravel sweeper.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Gravel Rally range specifically for rally and rallycross use, where the road surface is about as hostile as motorsport gets – sandstone, snow, silt, and everything in between, sometimes within the same stage. The shock absorber carries more of the workload here than in almost any other discipline, so the range uses an inverted tube layout designed to cope with that spread of conditions rather than one ideal surface. A long stroke paired with a long spring lets the damper soak up chassis vibration and absorb hits from a fast, uneven road without running out of travel. Every spring rate offered in the range has been set and checked by an actual rally racing team rather than calculated on a bench, so the numbers reflect what a car needs when it is being driven hard over broken ground rather than a smooth test track.

Fitment for the Bmw 3 Series E90 M3 (Modified Rr Integrated) (2007-2011)

This kit is specified for the BM89-chassis 3 Series E90 M3 built between 2007 and 2011, specifically the modified rear-integrated variant of the platform. Confirm your car matches the rear-integrated specification before ordering, as the standard E90 M3 rear end uses a different mounting arrangement.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
