XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES E36 COMPACT 6 CYL TI (Modified Rear Integrated) 1994-2000

The E36 Compact’s rear axle isn’t the saloon’s Z-axle multi-link – it’s a semi-trailing-arm layout carried over from the E30, sitting under a wheelbase roughly 110mm shorter than the standard 3 Series. That combination changes how the back end loads and unloads through a fast direction change, and it’s why this Circuit Master kit uses a rear-integrated damper design built specifically around the Compact’s geometry rather than a re-badged saloon unit.

Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s dedicated circuit damper, aimed at the 3 Series 6-cylinder TI doing sustained lap sessions rather than the odd track day outing. Independent front and rear adjustment gives you a way to work the Compact’s short-wheelbase pitch sensitivity out of the equation before you start chasing lap time.

What this coilover does for your 1994-2000 Bmw 3 Series E36 Compact 6 CYL TI (modified Rr Integrated)

Fitted to a 6-cylinder TI, the extra weight of the straight-six up front shifts the Compact’s balance away from the four-cylinder cars, and the front damper’s adjustment range lets you add support against that nose-down transfer under braking into slow corners. At the back, the rear-integrated design keeps the semi-trailing-arm’s camber change under control as load builds through a corner, so the shorter wheelbase stops feeling nervous on turn-in and starts feeling quick instead. With three adjustment knobs and 9,720 combinations across the kit, you can separate low-speed compression – kerb strikes, trail braking – from high-speed rebound – compressions, crest changes – rather than settling for one dial that has to do both jobs at once. Ride height drops through the same adjustment, letting you correct geometry that the standard Compact’s factory arches were never set up for.

About the Circuit Master coilover

Circuit Master sits at the top of XYZ Racing’s competition range, developed alongside the Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally dampers but tuned specifically for sustained lap work rather than a single stage or a drift run. XYZ’s own racing teams have run the design on circuits worldwide, and that circuit-first brief carries through to the construction: three separate adjustment knobs feed a small-oil-hole valving design that produces 9,720 possible damping combinations, a far finer degree of control than a single-knob unit offers. That fine valving has one trade-off worth knowing about – the small oil passages can produce a faint noise over sharp bumps and kerbs. That’s a normal characteristic of the design, not a fault, and it’s not something you’ll notice on a smooth track surface, which is where this damper is meant to live rather than on potholed B-roads.

Fitment for the Bmw 3 Series E36 Compact 6 CYL TI (modified Rr Integrated) (1994-2000)

This kit is built for the BMW 3 Series E36 Compact 6-cylinder TI, chassis code BM21-3, covering the 1994 to 2000 production run. The rear damper uses the Modified Rr Integrated design to match the Compact’s semi-trailing-arm rear axle, so confirm your car is the Compact bodystyle rather than the E36 saloon or coupe before ordering.
