XYZ Racing Street Advanced Coilovers — BMW 1 SERIES F20 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik. xDrive & EDC) (Modified Rear Integrated) 2010-2026

The rear-wheel-drive F20 1 Series was always the keenest chassis in BMW’s post-2010 hatchback range, and on cars built without factory EDC the standard dampers are a fixed compromise between ride and body control that can’t be changed once the car leaves the factory. XYZ Racing’s Street Advanced coilover swaps that fixed setup for 720 ways of damping adjustment, so the F20’s inherent balance – light nose, rear-biased weight distribution, and quick turn-in – can be tuned rather than simply accepted.

This kit is built for the F20 owner who drives the car daily but wants the option of a proper track day without swapping suspension twice a year. Ride height and damping are both adjustable, so the same car can sit comfortable and compliant for the commute, then be firmed up and dropped for a circuit session.

What this coilover does for your 2010-2026 BMW 1 Series

On a non-EDC F20, the factory dampers can’t respond to load transfer the way the electronic-damper cars do, so body control on quick direction changes is left entirely to spring rate and bump-stop geometry. The Street Advanced coilover’s 720-way damping range lets you add compression control on the F20’s rear axle to settle it under trail braking, then back the rebound off again for motorway comfort. Because ride height is independently adjustable front and rear, you can correct the F20’s factory rake and bring the centre of gravity down without pushing the car into an uncomfortable ride on B-roads. For the 4/6-cylinder cars covered by this kit – non-M-Technik, non-xDrive – the extra low-speed damping control also does a lot to check the dive under braking that the standard 1 Series struggles with once the tyres and pads are upgraded.

About the Street Advanced coilover

Street Advanced sits as XYZ Racing’s most widely fitted coilover line, refined over several product generations and run through testing at circuits used by XYZ’s own racing programme before being signed off for retail. It’s positioned deliberately between a comfort-biased street kit and a dedicated track-only setup: the 720-way damping adjustment is enough range to move from a soft daily setting to a stiffened track setting on the same dampers, rather than needing separate kits for each use. Construction follows XYZ’s usual coilover format, with adjustable ride height built into the strut body so corner weights and stance can be set without swapping springs. It’s aimed squarely at drivers who want one suspension kit that covers both a spirited road drive and an occasional day on a circuit, without the compromises of a single fixed factory setting.

Fitment for the Bmw 1 Series F20 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik, xDrive & EDC) (Modified Rr Integrated) (2010-2026)

This kit is specified for the F20-generation 1 Series (chassis code BM96), 2010 to 2026, four- and six-cylinder cars only. It excludes M-Technik, xDrive, and factory EDC-equipped variants, and uses a modified, rear-integrated mounting arrangement rather than the standard rear top mount.
