XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Audi A3 8V Φ55 (Rear Multi-Link Suspension) Modified Rear Integrated 2012-2020

Gravel and snow stages compress a chassis in ways smooth tarmac never will, and the A3 8V’s multi-link rear axle needs generous shock travel to keep the inside wheel tracking the ground through repeated hits. The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is built around exactly that requirement – longer travel front and rear than a circuit-only setup, giving the suspension a bigger buffer before it runs out of stroke on a rutted forest stage or a snow-packed hairpin.

This is XYZ Racing’s rally and rally-cross damper, not a road-biased comfort kit dressed up in gravel branding. It carries over onto a Pro Racing chassis specifically prepped for loose-surface abuse on the A3, whether that’s a full rally build or a fast-road car that spends winter weekends on snow events.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2020 Audi A3 8V Φ55 (Rr Multi-Link Suspension) Modified Rr Integrated

On the 2012-2020 A3 8V Φ55 (Rr Multi-Link Suspension) Modified Rr Integrated, the extra stroke keeps the rear axle working through compressions that would bottom out a shorter-travel road coilover, so the car stays composed instead of skipping across ruts. The larger internal volume of suspension oil and nitrogen gas is the other half of that story: it gives the damper more thermal mass to absorb heat from repeated hard compressions on a long stage, so shock performance doesn’t fade as the oil temperature climbs over a session. Three external adjustment knobs let you retune compression and rebound between a gravel stage, a snow event and a tarmac transit section without pulling the dampers apart. Front and rear geometry stays matched to the A3’s multi-link rear end, so the extra travel doesn’t come at the cost of the axle’s natural wheel control.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

XYZ Racing built this damper primarily for rally and rally-cross use, where the surface underneath the car changes far faster than the driver can react to it. Both the front and rear units run longer travel than the rest of the Pro Racing range, adding stroke specifically to give the axle a bigger cushion before the suspension tops out or bottoms out on rough ground. Internally, the shock carries a larger charge of suspension oil and nitrogen gas than a circuit-only unit, which helps it shed heat over a long stage instead of losing consistency as the oil warms up. The three-knob adjustment layout uses a small-orifice oil-flow design; on sustained big hits you may hear a faint noise through the valving as oil passes through those smaller passages, which is a normal characteristic of this construction, not a fault. XYZ Racing also rates the unit for circuit-track use, where the same amount of travel is a non-issue – it shrugs off surface irregularities that would otherwise unsettle a tighter road setup.

Fitment for the Audi A3 8V Φ55 (Rr Multi-Link Suspension) Modified Rr Integrated (2012-2020)

This kit is matched to A3 8V models built between 2012 and 2020 running the Φ55 strut diameter and the multi-link rear axle, not the torsion-beam rear fitted to lower-spec versions of the same generation. Chassis code AU12-6 in our system identifies this exact rear-suspension configuration, so confirm your car’s rear axle type before ordering.

Match the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover to your exact A3 8V rear-axle spec and build yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
