XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Audi A3 8V Φ55 (Rear Multi-Link Suspension) Modified Rear Integrated 2012-2020

The multi-link rear on the Audi A3 8V is the giveaway that this isn’t the base torsion-beam hatch most of the range shipped with. Higher-output and quattro-equipped 8V cars got the more sophisticated independent rear axle, and that geometry changes what a coilover needs to do at each corner. The Circuit Master kit for this A3 8V is built specifically around that multi-link rear, with the rear mounts modified and integrated to suit, rather than adapted from a torsion-beam base.

For sustained circuit lap-time work, that distinction matters more than a single track day. Repeated heat cycles and cornering loads expose any mismatch between front strut and rear multi-link behaviour, and this is where a generic universal-fit kit starts to show its limits on an A3 with the independent rear.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2020 Audi A3

Fitted to the 8V’s multi-link rear, the kit lets you set front and rear ride height independently, which matters on a chassis where the multi-link geometry is sensitive to corner weight and camber change through compression. The adjustable damping gives you a way to firm up body control under trail-braking into slower corners without turning the rear axle harsh over kerbs and mid-corner bumps, a trade-off the factory torsion-beam-tuned setup on lesser A3s was never asked to make. Lowering the centre of gravity on the 8V also sharpens turn-in response, useful given how the MQB platform’s front end can otherwise feel a step removed from the driver at higher cornering speeds. Because the damper adjustment is external, changes between sessions or between road and track settings do not require stripping the corner down.

About the Circuit Master coilover

XYZ Racing positions the Circuit Master as its focused circuit product, developed and run in testing by XYZ’s own racing teams across multiple international series rather than built purely as a road kit with a track badge on it. The headline figure is 9720 individual damping combinations, delivered through 3 external adjustment knobs, giving a far finer window for tuning compression and rebound than a single-knob unit allows. That fine-grained adjustment comes from a small-orifice internal oil-passage design; on rough sections or repeated kerb strikes the oil moving through those small passages can produce a faint noise under the car, which is a normal by-product of the valving rather than a fault, and it is not something you’ll notice as a problem on the smooth surfaces of a circuit, which is what this damper is built around. The result is a kit engineered around consistent damping response through the higher-frequency inputs and heat cycling of repeated lap sessions rather than everyday ride comfort.

Fitment for the Audi A3 (2012-2020)

This kit is built for the Audi A3 8V produced between 2012 and 2020, specifically the multi-link rear-suspension variant with modified rear integration – not the torsion-beam FWD version of the same generation. Confirm your car has the independent multi-link rear axle before ordering, as the two 8V rear suspension types are not interchangeable on this kit.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
