Loose gravel and packed snow load an A3 Sportback’s suspension in ways smooth tarmac never does – repeated big hits, sudden compressions, and long spells where the dampers never get a chance to cool between corners. The 8V’s multi-link rear axle already gives this chassis more wheel control than the torsion-beam cars in the same range, but the standard dampers run out of travel and oil capacity long before a rally stage does. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is built specifically for that kind of abuse.
Extended front and rear stroke gives the A3 more cushion before the suspension bottoms out on a rutted track or a snow-packed hairpin, and a larger reservoir of suspension oil and nitrogen keeps the dampers working consistently instead of fading as fluid temperature climbs over a long run. This is the CancellationKit version, built for A3 Sportbacks that left the factory with electronic damping control, so it removes the factory adaptive system entirely and hands full manual control to the coilover.
What this coilover does for your 2012-2020 Audi A3 SPORTBACK
On loose surfaces, the extra wheel travel means the multi-link rear can follow the ground through compressions and crests instead of skipping across them, so traction stays more consistent than it would on a shorter-travel road coilover. Three external adjustment knobs let you set compression and rebound for gravel, snow, or a mixed-surface stage without swapping hardware between events. Because the shock body carries a larger oil and nitrogen charge than a standard road unit, damping force holds up through a full stage rather than softening as the fluid heats up – useful on a car built for repeat runs, not one flying lap. Ride height is fully adjustable too, so you can raise the A3 for deeper snow or extra clearance over rutted ground, then wind it back down for tighter, faster stages.
About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover
XYZ Racing developed the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover specifically for rally and rallycross use, where the surface underneath the car changes every few seconds. Front and rear units both run longer stroke than the brand’s circuit-focused coilovers, giving the suspension somewhere to go when a wheel drops into a rut or a compression arrives without warning. The shock body is sized to hold a larger volume of suspension oil and nitrogen gas than a standard road coilover, which is what lets the damping stay stable instead of fading as oil temperature climbs over a long stage or repeated snow runs. Each corner has three external adjustment knobs, and the internals meter oil through a small-hole passage design – on a hard gravel hit you may notice a faint noise as oil moves through that passage, which is a normal characteristic of the design rather than a fault. The result is a coilover meant to be driven hard over broken, unpredictable surfaces without losing damping consistency run after run.
Fitment for the Audi A3 SPORTBACK (2012-2020)
This kit fits the Audi A3 Sportback 8V, chassis code AU12-7-C, across the 2012 to 2020 production run, on cars specified with the multi-link rear suspension layout. It’s the Modified Rr Integrated, CancellationKit version, built for A3 Sportbacks that were originally fitted with electronic damping control, replacing the factory adaptive dampers with manually adjustable, non-electronic units front and rear.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
