XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Porsche 992 CARRERA-2/S CABRIOLET (without hydraulic lift system) 2019-2026

The 992 Carrera carries its engine behind the rear axle, and on a standing-start launch that rearward mass is an asset most front- and mid-engined rivals would trade their gearbox for. The XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover for the Porsche 992 Carrera-2/S Cabriolet is built to exploit exactly that, controlling how the chassis migrates load onto the driven rear tyres the instant the PDK bites or the clutch drops.

This is a single-purpose kit aimed at 0 to 400 metre runs, not a fast-road all-rounder. It governs squat and weight transfer so the rear contact patches load hard and repeatably off the line, which is where a heavy rear-drive 911 either hooks up cleanly or wastes the run lighting its tyres. The open-top body adds scuttle flex a Coupe never sees, and a launch-focused setup has to account for that softer shell.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Porsche 992 Carrera-2/S Cabriolet

After fitting, the difference shows up in the first sixty feet. The damping is set to plant the rear tyres under hard acceleration rather than let the nose lift and the rear unload progressively, so more of the 992’s torque reaches the tarmac instead of the rev limiter. Wheelspin off the line is cut, traction is more consistent run to run, and the car settles faster as speed climbs toward the trap. For a Cabriolet, which sits heavier and flexes more than the fixed-roof car, that controlled weight migration is the single biggest gain you will feel.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ designed this series specifically for 0 to 400 drag use across front-, rear- and four-wheel-drive platforms, and the tuning philosophy is built around the standing start rather than lateral grip. The damper and spring rates are chosen to shift weight bias toward whichever axle drives the car, forcing the driven tyres to compress harder and bite at the moment of launch. That extra compression is what reduces the idle time of a spinning wheel, converting throttle into forward motion sooner. The setup also keeps the platform stable as the car loads up at the top of the run, so high-speed behaviour stays predictable. On the rear-drive 992 Carrera-2/S, the effort goes into loading the rear axle and holding the body composed through the squat that follows.

Fitment for the Porsche 992 Carrera-2/S Cabriolet (2019-2026)

This kit is matched to the 992-generation Carrera-2 and Carrera-2S Cabriolet, chassis code PO20, built 2019 to 2026, in rear-wheel-drive form. It is specified for cars without the factory hydraulic front-axle lift system. Confirm your car is not optioned with that lift before ordering.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.
