XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Mitsubishi MAGNA 2002-2004

Loose-surface work asks something different of a big, front-heavy saloon like the Mitsubishi Magna: the dampers have to swallow gravel stutter and snow ruts without bottoming out or cooking themselves halfway through a stage. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover for the 2002-2004 Mitsubishi Magna is built for that job – a rally and rallycross damper with long travel front and rear, sized to keep a heavy Australian sedan composed when the tarmac runs out.

That long stroke is the whole point. Where a road or circuit coilover would run out of travel and slam into its bumpstops on a rutted forest stage, this kit keeps the wheels working with the surface, so the Magna’s nose-led weight stays loaded rather than pitching and skating.

What this coilover does for your 2002-2004 Mitsubishi Magna

On gravel the difference shows up as control. The extended front and rear travel gives the heavy Magna a far bigger working window before the suspension runs out of room, so big compressions over crests and drainage cuts are absorbed instead of jarring through the shell. The larger oil and nitrogen volume means the dampers hold their rate deep into a long stage rather than fading as the fluid heats up. Three external adjustment knobs let you set the car up for a fast, smooth gravel road one day and a snow-rutted surface the next, without pulling anything apart.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This is XYZ Racing’s dedicated rally and rallycross damper, and the engineering is aimed squarely at rough, loose surfaces rather than smooth tarmac. The longer front and rear stroke creates a much bigger buffer distance, which is what keeps the car stable when the wheels are travelling hard. The headline feature is volume: a greater quantity of suspension oil and a larger nitrogen gas charge, both there to hold damping stability and stop the oil temperature climbing to the point where the shock gives up after sustained hard use. Adjustment runs through three separate knobs, and the small oil-hole design that gives that fine control can produce a faint noise as fluid passes through the narrow passage over big hits – that is normal behaviour for this type of damper, not a fault. It is a coilover designed to keep working when a softer, smaller-capacity unit would have wilted.

Fitment for the Mitsubishi Magna (2002-2004)

This kit is specified for the MT32-chassis Mitsubishi Magna across the 2002 to 2004 model years. Fitment is matched to that chassis and year span; confirm your build details against the configurator before ordering so you get the correct front and rear units for your car.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
