XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Mitsubishi MAGNA 2002-2004

The Magna’s MT32 platform carries most of its mass over the front axle – a transverse V6 hung ahead of the front wheels in a big Australian-built sedan. On the strip that nose weight is a launch asset, but only if the suspension lets it settle onto the driven tyres at the right moment instead of unloading them into wheelspin. The XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover for the Mitsubishi Magna 2002-2004 is built around that single problem: getting the car off the line cleanly and keeping it pointed straight to the traps.

This is not a fast-road or circuit setup pressed into service. The Drag Racing series is set up specifically for 0-400 metre runs, where what happens in the first sixty feet decides the slip.

What this coilover kit does for your 2002-2004 Mitsubishi Magna

The damping is tuned to manage how the Magna shifts weight under a hard launch, loading the driven wheels harder so the contact patch bites rather than spins. Reducing that initial wheel slip cuts the wasted time before the car actually hooks up and accelerates. Once you are moving, the same control that helps you launch keeps the long sedan body settled and stable at high terminal speed, where a soft factory setup would feel vague. Ride height is fully adjustable so you can rake the car for transfer and set corner balance, and the result is a Magna that leaves the line with intent instead of lighting up the tyres.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing designed this kit expressly for straight-line drag use across front-wheel-drive, rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive applications, so the principle holds whichever wheels your Magna sends power through. The core idea is controlled weight management: the setting shifts load between the front and rear of the car in the instant you launch, forcing greater compression onto the driven tyres for maximum grip. That compression is what reduces the idle, spinning phase of the wheel and translates engine output into forward motion sooner. The same calibration that helps the launch also stabilises the vehicle at the high speeds reached down the back half of the strip. Height-adjustable spring perches let you fine-tune stance and weight bias to suit your power level and tyre.

Fitment for the Mitsubishi Magna (2002-2004)

This kit is built for the MT32-series Mitsubishi Magna across the 2002 to 2004 model years. Confirm your chassis code and year against the listing before ordering, and check your current corner setup so you can transfer ride-height and alignment targets across to the new coilovers.

What buyers also search for

  • Mitsubishi Magna drag coilovers for quarter-mile launch traction
  • MT32 Magna suspension that loads the driven wheels off the line

Set your ride height, bias and launch stance to suit your build – configure yours below.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
