XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Mitsubishi 3000 GT 1992-1996

The 3000 GT has never responded well to short, hard suspension. It is a heavy car with a lot of that mass carried over the front axle, and on a loose surface it wants travel to work with rather than spring rate to fight against. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers for the Mitsubishi 3000 GT are built around that reality, with longer-stroke dampers front and rear that keep the tyres loaded when the ground stops being flat.

This is the gravel and snow specification, aimed at rally and rallycross rather than the lowest static ride height. For a 1992-1996 3000 GT being prepped for forest stages or winter events, it swaps the factory car’s complicated electronic damping for something you can read, adjust and rebuild yourself.

What this coilover does for your 1992-1996 Mitsubishi 3000 GT

The extra travel is what you feel first: over ruts, broken cambers and crests the wheels stay in contact instead of skipping, so an AWD 3000 GT can actually put its torque down on the surface beneath it. The larger oil and nitrogen volume inside each damper resists heat build-up on long stages, where a smaller shock would start to fade and go vague. Three separate adjusters let you set the car for the conditions on the day rather than living with one fixed compromise. On a machine this heavy, that combination of compliance and consistent damping is what keeps the front end honest under braking into a corner you cannot see the exit of.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This damper is engineered for rally and rallycross loose-surface use. The design priority is stability through travel: front and rear strokes are lengthened to give a bigger buffer before the suspension runs out of movement, which keeps the car settled over impacts that would unsettle a shorter-travel kit. To support that, each unit carries a greater volume of shock oil and nitrogen gas, which raises thermal headroom and stops the oil overheating and losing its damping after sustained hard use. Adjustment runs through three knobs, and because the valving uses a small oil-passage design, you may hear a faint noise as oil moves through that passage over large bumps. That is normal behaviour for this construction, not a fault, and it is the same trait that makes the kit equally at home on rough circuit surfaces.

Fitment for the Mitsubishi 3000 GT (1992-1996)

This kit is listed for the GT-chassis Mitsubishi 3000 GT across the 1992 to 1996 model years. The 3000 GT range spanned front-drive and twin-turbo all-wheel-drive VR-4 variants with differing hardware, so confirm your exact trim and drivetrain against your car before ordering. Only the fitment facts shown here apply.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
