XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Mazda 323 LANTIS 1994-1998

The 323 Lantis launches the wrong way round for a quarter-mile car. With the KF V6 or the 1.8 four hung out over the front axle and drive going to those same wheels, every hard getaway tries to throw weight rearward and unload the tyres doing all the work. The XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover for the Mazda 323 Lantis exists to fight that, holding load over the driven front wheels at the moment the lights go green.

This is a 0-400 metre tool, not a fast-road compromise wearing drag stickers. The damping and ride-height settings are aimed squarely at repeatable launches and at keeping the car stable as the speed climbs down the strip.

What this coilover does for your 1994-1998 Mazda 323 Lantis

On a front-wheel-drive Lantis the gain you feel first is bite off the line. By controlling how weight settles front to rear during the launch, the coilover keeps the driven front tyres compressed and planted, cutting the wheelspin that quietly ruins a sixty-foot time. Corner-balanced ride height lets you set the car’s attitude for a straight, square launch rather than a one-wheel scrabble. At the top end, the firmer control settles the chassis so the Lantis tracks straight through the traps instead of wandering as load builds. For a 90s compact that was never set up for this, it turns a hit-or-miss getaway into something you can repeat down every pass.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing built this Drag Racing series specifically for 0-400 metre work, and the same logic carries across front-, rear- and four-wheel-drive cars. The core idea is managed weight transfer: the setup lets you shift the front-to-rear balance to match which axle is driven, deliberately forcing the driven tyres into greater compression as you launch. More compression means more grip at the contact patch, which shortens the moment the wheels spin uselessly before they hook up. From there the same damping keeps the car settled as it gathers speed, so the chassis stays composed rather than nervous at the far end. It is a focused, single-purpose build – a drag coilover, not a do-everything road kit dressed up for the strip.

Fitment for the Mazda 323 Lantis (1994-1998)

This kit is cut for the MA12-chassis Mazda 323 Lantis built from 1994 to 1998. It is a direct-fit coilover for that platform and year span, covering the front-wheel-drive Lantis bodyshell. Confirm your chassis code reads MA12 before ordering so the strut and mounting dimensions line up.

What buyers also search for

  • Mazda 323 Lantis drag coilover built for repeatable 0-400 metre launches off the line.
  • MA12 Lantis suspension upgrade aimed at cutting sixty-foot times through better front-axle traction.
  • Mazda 323 Lantis FWD launch setup that keeps the driven tyres planted on a hard getaway.
  • Height-adjustable coilover for a 1994-1998 Lantis strip build, corner-balanced for a square launch.

The 323 Lantis is a rare thing to bring to a strip in 2026, so set it up to actually leave the line. Pick your spec and configure yours below.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.
