XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Mazda 323 LANTIS 1994-1998

The MA12 Lantis was built as a road car, and its standard damping runs out of travel the moment you point it at a loose surface. On gravel or snow, a front-driven chassis like this needs to keep its wheels pressed into a surface that keeps falling away beneath them – over crests, into ruts, across frost heave. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is designed for exactly that, with deliberately long stroke front and rear so the wheel can chase the ground instead of topping out and going light.

This is the rally and rallycross end of the XYZ range, not a fast-road lowering kit. For a 1994-1998 Mazda 323 Lantis being prepared for stage, autotest or winter loose-surface work, the priority is wheel control and consistency over a long run, and that is what this damper is set up to deliver.

What this coilover does for your 1994-1998 Mazda 323 Lantis

The extended travel gives the front axle of the Lantis room to work over big inputs, so the driven wheels stay loaded and the car tracks straight where a shorter-stroke setup would skip and wash wide. A larger oil volume and the added nitrogen gas charge mean the damping stays honest deep into a run rather than fading as the fluid heats up – the difference between a car that feels the same on the last corner as the first, and one that goes vague. Three-way adjustment lets you set bump and rebound separately for the surface you are on, firming things for hard-packed gravel or freeing the car up for fresh snow. The result is a 323 Lantis that breathes with the terrain instead of fighting it.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This is XYZ Racing’s loose-surface specification, developed for rally and rallycross use. The headline feature is travel: both front and rear units carry a longer working stroke than the tarmac kits, which builds in a bigger buffer before the suspension runs out of movement and keeps the car settled over rough ground. To support that, the dampers hold a greater volume of shock oil and nitrogen gas, which stabilises the valving and stops the oil overheating and giving up after sustained hard use. Adjustment runs through three separate knobs, using a small-orifice design that routes oil through a fine passage on the biggest hits. One honest note from the maker: over large impacts that small passage can produce a faint noise as the fluid moves through it. That is normal behaviour for this construction, not a fault.

Fitment for the Mazda 323 Lantis (1994-1998)

This kit is built for the Mazda 323 Lantis, chassis code MA12, covering the 1994 to 1998 production span. Confirm your chassis code against the data plate before ordering, as the Lantis shared showrooms with several closely related Mazda models in this era.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
