XYZ Racing Pro Rally Coilovers — Proton GEN-2 2004-2012

The Gen-2’s Lotus-tuned front-wheel-drive chassis was always sharper than its budget billing suggested, but the soft factory damping runs out of travel control the moment you point it down a loose-surface stage. The XYZ Racing Pro Rally coilover for the Proton Gen-2 is built for exactly that environment – gravel and snow competition, where the suspension has to absorb impacts the road car was never designed to see.

This is rally hardware, not a fast-road lowering kit. The Pro Rally is aimed at top-flight rally competition, prioritising long travel and impact resistance over the low static ride height a show build chases.

What this coilover does for your 2004-2012 Proton GEN-2

On a loose surface the Campro-engined Gen-2 leans hard on its front axle under braking and turn-in, and the standard dampers cannot keep the contact patch settled over successive ruts and crests. The Pro Rally coilover restores body control on a 2004-2012 Proton Gen-2 by pairing rally-rate springs with damping built to soak up repeated big hits, so the nose stays composed where the original setup would skip and wash wide. You get usable suspension stroke for compressions and crests, more predictable weight transfer when you lift to rotate the car, and a platform you can set up around the surface rather than fight. Grip becomes something you place, not something you hope for.

About the Pro Rally coilover

XYZ Racing builds the Pro Rally as a dedicated gravel and snow rally suspension, and it comes in two distinct configurations to match how seriously the car is being prepared. The first is an amateur specification that bolts straight to the original Proton Gen-2 chassis with no bodyshell changes – the sensible entry point for club-level and privateer stage work. The second is a professional specification for cars whose bodyshell has already been modified to accept a full competition suspension package, the route for crews chasing outright pace at the sharp end. Both are engineered around the demands of loose-surface rallying rather than tarmac, which dictates the longer stroke, the impact-tolerant valving and the robust construction that stage rallying punishes. The choice comes down to your build: standard shell, or modified shell.

Fitment for the Proton GEN-2 (2004-2012)

This kit is matched to the Proton Gen-2 on the PR01 chassis, covering the 2004 to 2012 production run. Confirm your car carries the PR01 chassis code before ordering, and select the amateur or professional specification depending on whether your shell is standard or already prepared for competition mounts.
