XYZ Racing Pro Rally Coilovers — Peugeot 406 COUPE 1997-2004

The Peugeot 406 Coupe left the factory as a Pininfarina-bodied grand tourer – long-legged, softly sprung, tuned for motorway miles rather than gravel stages. The XYZ Racing Pro Rally coilover takes that comfort-biased PE12 platform and rebuilds its suspension for top-flight rally competition, where wheel travel, damping durability and ride-height control matter far more than boulevard compliance.

This is not a fast-road lowering kit. The Pro Rally setup is built for loose surfaces – gravel and snow – where a 1997-2004 406 Coupe has to absorb impacts at speed and keep its front tyres loaded through ruts and crests. For anyone campaigning or building a 406 Coupe for stage use, this is the competition-grade end of the XYZ Racing range.

What this coilover does for your 1997-2004 Peugeot 406 Coupe

On a heavy, nose-led coupe like the 406, the first thing you notice is composure over broken ground. The long-travel damping keeps the front wheels in contact through gravel ruts and snow-packed cambers instead of skating across them. Ride height is adjustable, so you can set the car for the ground clearance a stage demands rather than running a fixed road drop. The damping is built to survive repeated heavy hits without fading partway through a stage, which is exactly where softer road-biased kits surrender. The result is a 406 Coupe that turns in predictably under braking and puts its power down on surfaces the standard suspension was never designed to handle.

About the Pro Rally coilover

XYZ Racing builds the Pro Rally coilover specifically for gravel and snow rally use, and it is offered in two installation philosophies. The amateur specification bolts directly to the original 406 Coupe chassis with no bodywork changes, making it the sensible route for club-level and entry stage builds. The professional specification is designed to be fitted after the car body has been modified, freeing up the suspension geometry and travel a full competition car needs. Both share the long-travel, high-durability damping that separates a genuine rally coilover from a lowered fast-road kit. Choosing between them comes down to how far your build goes – a road-registered stage car, or a stripped and modified competition shell.

Fitment for the Peugeot 406 Coupe (1997-2004)

This kit is specified for the Peugeot 406 Coupe, chassis code PE12, covering the 1997 to 2004 production run. Confirm your car is the PE12 coupe before ordering; the Pininfarina coupe shares much of its mechanical package with the wider 406 range, but this suspension spec is matched to the coupe shell.
