Caliper render for this kit:

The W208 CLK 320 was built as a refined V6 grand tourer, and its factory rear brakes were specified to match: adequate for the M112’s relaxed torque delivery, but quick to wash out once the coupe or cabriolet is leaned on along a back road or a track day. This XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Mercedes Benz CLK 320 W208 (1996-2003) addresses the rear axle directly, adding thermal capacity exactly where the standard setup runs short of it.
The disc is the headline. A two-piece floating rotor sheds heat faster than the solid factory rear and trims rotating mass at each corner, which the W208’s softly sprung back end notices. Paired with a fixed multi-piston caliper and a choice of three pad compounds, this is the rear half of a balanced brake upgrade rather than a cosmetic swap.
What this brake kit does for your 1996-2003 Mercedes Benz CLK 320 W208
On the road you feel a firmer, more progressive pedal and a brake balance that no longer leans entirely on the front discs. The two-piece floating disc resists the heat soak that fades a stock CLK 320 after a few hard stops from motorway speed, so repeat braking stays consistent on a long descent or a circuit session. The Racing pad compound sharpens bite and raises fade resistance for track work, the Sport compound covers harder road use and the odd track day, and the Street compound keeps low-temperature response and quiet daily manners. Because the kit is matched to the rear axle, it restores the front-to-rear bias the heavier cabriolet in particular benefits from, settling the car under trail braking instead of letting the nose run wide.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
The kit is built around a two-piece floating disc, the friction ring riding on an alloy bell and run with internal vanes that remove material from the rotor core to cut weight without surrendering the swept area needed to absorb heat. The result is lower rotating mass at the rear, quicker cooling between applications, and a disc that resists distortion under repeated thermal cycling better than a solid OE rear. The caliper is a hollow-body forged multi-piston unit as standard, clamping a larger effective pad, and it ships in a choice of Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone for a small upcharge and premium polished-forged or candy finishes available. Three pad compounds span the range from Street for quiet fast-road use, through a Sport compound for harder driving, to a full Racing compound, so the kit can be specified for a comfortable GT or a hard-driven track coupe. Each component is engineered to bolt to the W208’s existing rear hubs.
Fitment for the Mercedes Benz CLK 320 W208 (1996-2003)
This kit is cut for the Mercedes Benz CLK 320 on the W208 chassis across the full 1996 to 2003 production run, covering both the coupe and cabriolet bodystyles running the M112 V6. It mounts to the rear axle as a rear-only kit. Confirm your chassis code and build year before ordering so the caliper and disc dimensions match exactly.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
