Caliper render for this kit:

The AP1 S2000’s F20C delivers its 237 bhp above 6,000 rpm, which means you are carrying serious speed through long corners before the braking zones arrive. Honda’s standard 282 mm sliding-caliper setup handles public-road use without complaint, but on circuit the factory hardware accumulates heat across successive stops in a way that introduces fade, lengthens pedal travel, and makes front-end response unpredictable precisely when you need it to be consistent. On a car where trail-braking is the technique that governs the rear’s behaviour, inconsistent front-brake feel costs more than straight-line stopping distance.
The XYZ Racing front brake kit for the Honda S2000 AP1 addresses that limitation. Three pad compounds let the same caliper assembly span road-registered daily use through to open-pit-lane circuit sessions, while caliper colour choices let you match or contrast the finish against your wheel selection.
What this brake kit does for your 1999-2003 Honda S2000 AP1
Two-piece floating discs reduce unsprung and rotating mass without sacrificing thermal capacity. On a car weighing around 1,250 kg where response to inputs is almost immediate, that reduction in rotating inertia sharpens turn-in feel and reduces the gyroscopic resistance the front wheels generate under braking load. The upgraded caliper hardware delivers more even pad-to-disc contact across the rotor face, addressing the hot-spot fade that afflicts the AP1’s stock discs from the third or fourth circuit lap onward. Three pad compounds give you a genuine choice: Street for quiet, low-dust road use, Sport for mixed conditions and a wider heat range, and Racing for sustained high-temperature work where the F20C’s rev-hungry power delivery means repeated deep-braking zones. Better pedal feel under load also restores the precision needed to trail-brake confidently, which on the AP1 is the technique that rotates the rear and keeps the nose pointing where you intend rather than forcing you to lift early and accept the car’s characteristic step. Caliper colour is set when you order from Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black, all included at no extra cost.
About the Hollow Front Brake Kit
Built around two-piece floating discs and a hollow-body forged caliper as standard, the kit prioritises thermal management and mass reduction in tandem. The disc construction limits heat soak across repeated stops, maintaining a more predictable friction-surface temperature than a conventional solid or fully-cast disc under sustained use, and braided lines keep the pedal firm. Three pad compounds (Street, Sport and Racing) work with the same caliper hardware, so the kit can be configured when you order or switched between track and road duty with a pad change. For serious track use the optional Hollow Racing caliper deletes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, the centre bell can be upgraded to a two-tone anodized finish in five colours or to titanium, and beyond the included caliper colours you can specify a Custom Color in any Pantone for £150, premium polished-forged finishes (Titanium, Polished Gold, Polished Silver) or candy finishes (Candy Teal, Candy Blue, Candy Red, Candy Orange). The AP1-specific kit is sized to bolt to the standard front upright geometry without hub or carrier modification.
Fitment for the Honda S2000 AP1 (1999-2003)
This kit covers the Honda S2000 AP1 from 1999 through to 2003, the original F20C variant ahead of the AP2’s revised rear suspension geometry and uprated braking revisions that arrived from 2004. Fitment is front axle only; a complete braking overhaul will need rear-axle sourcing confirmed separately. Before ordering, check wheel clearance against the caliper body depth, particularly if running aftermarket alloys at a reduced offset from the standard S2000 fitment.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
