Caliper render for this kit:

The AP1 S2000’s tail moves early. Its short wheelbase and near-even weight split make the rear axle the first thing to step out under trail braking, and the standard rear brakes were never specced with repeat circuit abuse in mind. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit addresses exactly that, adding lightweight, heat-managed rear discs and a stiffer caliper to the back of the 1999-2003 Honda S2000.
This is a rear-specific kit, sized to balance against a front upgrade rather than overpower the back of a car that already likes to rotate. The hollow-vane disc construction trims rotating mass where the AP1 is most sensitive to it, and the three pad compound options let you match rear bite to how hard you actually drive the car.
What this brake kit does for your 1999-2003 Honda S2000 AP1
On the road you get a firmer, more progressive rear pedal that makes the AP1 easier to place on turn-in. On track the gains sharpen up: the hollow discs shed heat and carry less rotating mass, so the rear resists fade and gives you a consistent reference point when you are using the brakes to settle the tail mid-corner. Choose the Racing compound and the rear axle holds bite through a full session; the Sport compound adds heat range for fast road and the odd track day, while the Street pad stays quiet and low-dust for a mostly-road car. Because it is a rear kit, the real benefit is balance: you can trail-brake deeper without the back of the S2000 snapping into the kind of rotation the AP1 is known for.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
The Hollow rear brake kit is XYZ Racing’s lightweight-disc answer for the back axle. The name points to the disc design: hollow-vane construction that cuts rotating and unsprung mass without surrendering thermal capacity, which counts on a car as weight-sensitive as the S2000. The two-piece floating rotors run cooler between applications, and the hollow-bodied caliper is standard across the range. The kit pairs those discs with an upgraded caliper and a choice of three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, so the rear end can be set up for daily driving, fast-road use or full circuit work. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price. Caliper finish is configurable across Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no extra cost, with premium polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver, candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange, or any Pantone shade as a custom colour, so the hardware visible behind the wheel matches the rest of the build. It is engineered as a rear-axle upgrade, designed to work alongside a matched front kit rather than as a standalone front-biased system.
Fitment for the Honda S2000 AP1 (1999-2003)
This kit is built specifically for the AP1 generation of the Honda S2000, covering the 1999 to 2003 model years. It mounts to the rear axle and is matched to the AP1’s hubs and rear hardware, so it is not a universal big brake kit. Confirm your car is an AP1 rather than the later AP2 before ordering, as the two generations are specced separately.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
