Caliper render for this kit:

The Z3’s E36-derived front suspension was always one of the car’s underrated strengths: responsive, predictable, and with enough geometry in reserve to reward a driver who learns its limits. The factory brakes are a different matter. Standard front calipers on the Z3 were sized for comfortable road use, and while they cope adequately with everyday driving, they run short of breath when you are repeating heavy stops from speed. This XYZ Racing front big brake kit replaces that compromise on the BMW Z3 (1996-2002) with a matched pair of front calipers and discs specified for thermal demands the factory never planned for.
The Z3’s weight distribution loads the front axle hard under deceleration. In a car with this short a wheelbase and this low a centre of gravity, weight transfer is fast and decisive, which means the front brakes do the lion’s share of the work every time you trail into a corner. Get that front-and-rear balance right and the chassis stays composed under braking, which is exactly what a front-axle upgrade of this calibre delivers.
What this brake kit does for your 1996-2002 Bmw Z3
The two-piece floating discs run a vented vane geometry that draws airflow through the rotor under rotation, pulling heat off the friction face faster than a conventional one-piece casting and keeping temperatures within range across repeated stops. That is the kind of condition any Z3 will meet on a track-day morning or a hard fast-road run. The floating mount also lets the disc grow and shrink with heat without distorting, so pedal feel stays consistent rather than developing the judder that comes with a thermally stressed solid disc. Three pad compounds let you match the setup to actual use: Street is the quiet, low-dust road default; Sport adds bite and heat range for fast road with occasional track; Racing is the dedicated circuit compound. Braided stainless lines replace the rubber originals to give a firmer, more linear pedal that does not soften as the fluid heats. The included caliper finishes, painted in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, make the most of the open-spoked wheel designs many Z3 owners already run.
About the Hollow Front Brake Kit
This is a complete front-axle assembly, a left and right pair of calipers and discs, not a pad-and-disc refresh. The calipers are hollow-body as standard, which keeps weight off the corner without sacrificing rigidity, and serious track users can step up to the Hollow Racing caliper, which drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Disc faces come drilled or slotted at the same price, so the choice is yours to make on looks and feel. If you want the finish to go further than the standard palette, Custom Color matches any Pantone for a set fee, and the premium polished-forged finishes (Titanium, Polished Gold, Polished Silver) and candy finishes (Candy Teal, Candy Blue, Candy Red, Candy Orange) take the caliper from functional to a genuine centrepiece. Two-tone centre bells in five anodized colours, or a titanium bell, are selectable at checkout for owners who want the detail to carry through.

This kit is confirmed for the BMW Z3 across the full 1996-2002 production span as a front-axle fitment. Buyers should verify their specific Z3 variant’s caliper mounting and hub configuration before ordering, as the Z3 was produced across a range of engine and body specifications during this period. Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
