XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Toyota PREVIA / ESTIMA MCR30 1999-2003

The MCR30 Estima carries its transverse 3.0-litre V6 high and wide, and Toyota tuned the factory dampers for motorway hush and a soft kerb ride, not for loading a sealed-stage corner. That tall MPV body, long suspension travel and generous kerb weight mean the standard setup leans early, washes the nose wide, and runs out of control over broken tarmac.

The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the Toyota Previa / Estima MCR30 (1999-2003) attacks exactly that problem. It is built for sealed-stage tarmac rally, where surfaces are uneven, kerbs and crests come fast, and the car still has to put power down through the front axle. The settings come straight from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally programme, so the damping is matched to a heavy, high-sided platform rather than a light hot hatch.

What this coilover does for your 1999-2003 Toyota Previa / Estima MCR30

Drop one of these into the MCR30 and the first thing you feel is body control. The Estima stops heaving on its springs and starts taking a set quickly, so you can commit to a corner instead of waiting for the chassis to settle. Over patched, ridged tarmac the damping absorbs the big hits rather than passing them through to the structure, which keeps each tyre pressed into the road and holds traction where the standard car would skip and scrabble. The result is a Previa that turns in with intent, resists the understeer this nose-heavy V6 layout encourages, and stays stable when you load it mid-corner or over a crest. Ride height comes down to kill the soft-MPV roll without making the car unusable on the road in.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally damper is engineered for one job: controlling a car on uneven sealed surfaces. XYZ Racing’s brief was a damper that soaks up the impact of rough pavement and absorbs the jolt of a big bump without unsettling the body, while suppressing the shock that would otherwise reach the shell. By keeping the wheel in contact with the surface through that disturbance, it raises tyre traction at the exact moment grip matters most. The payoff is vehicle stability you can lean on, so the handling stays predictable when the road surface is anything but. Every setting in the kit is drawn from XYZ Racing’s tarmac rally competition experience, which is why the valving suits a heavy, tall platform like the MCR30 rather than a generic road tune.
