XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Porsche PANAMERA (970) RWD (NOT AIR STRUT) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2009-2016

Nearly two tonnes of front-engined V6 and V8 weight sits ahead of the Panamera 970’s rear axle, and that mass doesn’t disappear just because you’ve bolted on stickier tyres. Under trail-braking into a fast corner, that nose wants to keep travelling in a straight line long after the rest of the car has turned in, and the factory PASM electronic dampers – tuned for a car that’s also expected to waft to the airport in comfort – aren’t built to resist it lap after session.

The Racing Spec coilover replaces the steel-spring PASM strut on this non-air-suspension 970 outright, and because the factory damper carries an electronic control signal, this kit includes the cancellation hardware needed so the car’s control unit doesn’t throw a fault once that signal is gone. What’s left is a chassis that can actually be set up for the circuit rather than defaulting to a comfort-biased compromise.

What this coilover does for your 2009-2016 Porsche Panamera (970)

Fitting the Racing Spec kit gives you direct, mechanical control over how that front-end mass loads and unloads through a corner, instead of leaving it to an electronic damper map built around ride comfort. Height and damping are both adjustable, so you can lower the centre of gravity to cut the body roll a car this size generates, then firm up compression to control nose-dive under braking from Panamera-typical speeds. The rear end can be matched to the front rather than left to fight it, which matters on a car whose factory setup was never asked to hold a consistent line lap after lap. With the PASM cancellation handled, none of this comes at the cost of a dashboard full of suspension warnings.

About the Racing Spec coilover

Racing Spec is XYZ Racing’s damper built specifically for wheel-to-wheel track use, with its base valving derived from direct involvement in circuit racing series including WTCC. That pedigree shows up as damping that’s tuned to hold its character under sustained heat and repeated hard inputs, rather than settings borrowed from a fast-road product and stiffened up. For Panamera owners running genuinely aggressive builds – bigger brakes, wider tyres, additional aero, or anything else that changes how the chassis loads – XYZ Racing will build a bespoke shock absorber to match, the same approach used for factory and A-class racing cars. That means sending over your modification list and the circuits you intend to run, so the valving is matched to your actual car rather than a generic Panamera spec.

Fitment for the Porsche Panamera (970) (2009-2016)

This kit is built for the 970-generation Panamera, RWD, steel-spring cars only – not the air-strut PASM variants – across the 2009 to 2016 production run, and includes the cancellation kit required to run without the factory electronic damping signal.
