The oil passage incorporates a reduced-bore valve on the high-speed circuit: when the damper travels rapidly under a sudden load transfer, oil flows through a narrower passage that can generate a small amount of audible feedback. This is a known characteristic of the small-oil-hole design rather than a fault, and is inaudible on the smooth tarmac this damper is built for. Construction priorities are consistent, session-to-session performance under sustained thermal load – the opposite brief to a comfort-biased road damper.
