XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Porsche 992 CARRERA-2/S CABRIOLET (without hydraulic lift system) 2019-2026

The 992 Carrera-2’s rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout is an asset on tarmac and a real complexity on loose surfaces – that concentration of mass behind the rear axle can generate confidence on the way into a gravel bend and serious oversteer on the way out if the chassis moves faster than the dampers can manage. In Cabriolet form without the front hydraulic lift system, the standard PASM setup was never designed to cope with the violent, repeated compression events of a gravel stage.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the Porsche 992 Carrera-2/S Cabriolet addresses exactly that: a damper designed for rally racing and rallycross on loose surfaces, where road conditions are the most aggressive in any motorsport format and the shock absorber carries more load than any other component in the car. It covers the 2019-2026 model years, specifically on cars not fitted with the factory hydraulic lift option.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Porsche 992 Carrera-2/S Cabriolet

Long-stroke damper travel handles the sharp, unpredictable inputs of a gravel stage – crests, stone-embedded ruts, sudden surface transitions – without hammering into bump stops or sending undefined shock back through the Cabriolet’s bodyshell. On the rear-weighted 992 Carrera-2 platform, damping that absorbs high-speed compression events while maintaining tyre contact on a loose surface is not a refinement; it is what keeps the car manageable when the rear steps out. Long coilover springs work alongside the extended stroke to spread chassis vibration across a broader range, giving the driver legible feedback even on silt and snow where grip changes in an instant. Spring rate settings were validated against sandstone, snow, and silt stages by a dedicated rally racing team.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built this damper series for rally racing and rallycross – the competition formats where surface aggression is at its most extreme and the shock absorber carries more responsibility than any other component in the car. Construction uses an inverted tube arrangement: the outer housing slides over the inner piston rod, protecting it from stone strikes and debris that would compromise a conventional upright damper mid-stage. Long coilover springs, paired with extended stroke travel, absorb chassis vibration and handle the high-amplitude compression events and extreme lateral G-forces generated on loose-surface stages at speed. All spring rate configurations were tested by a rally racing team across the specific surface types this kit is designed for – sandstone, snow, and silt – making the valving a product of actual stage use, not tarmac-derived extrapolation.

Fitment for the Porsche 992 Carrera-2/S Cabriolet (2019-2026)

This XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover kit is configured for the Porsche 992 Carrera-2/S Cabriolet (chassis code PO20), covering model years 2019 to 2026. It is specified for cars not fitted with the optional front hydraulic lift system; cars with FLHS require a different kit configuration. Confirm your car’s option list before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
