XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Porsche 997 TURBO CARRERA-4 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2005-2011

The 997’s rear-engine weight distribution is the defining variable in any serious drift build – a flat-six mounted behind the rear axle creates the pendulum effect that makes the car rotate readily, but the same rear mass that helps entry snap will punish a coilover that can’t hold the chassis stable through a sustained slide. These XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilovers are built around that requirement specifically, with a calibration designed to stabilise the vehicle body during the high-speed turning sequences drift competition demands.

The Turbo and Carrera 4 variants within this fitment window came factory-fitted with PASM – Porsche Active Suspension Management – which adjusts damping electronically in response to driving conditions. Fit a conventional coilover without addressing the PASM circuit and the system will register a suspension fault. This kit includes the electronic damping cancellation hardware the ECU needs to accept the new setup without interference.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2011 Porsche 997 TURBO CARRERA-4

Ride height is reduced with careful attention to bump stroke: on a rear-engined AWD Porsche, the geometry changes that come from lowering the car need to preserve the rear responsiveness that makes the 997 a viable drift platform in the first place. The Drift Spec calibration holds the car stable through entry rotation and sustained angle – the load transfer conditions that define competitive drifting – while maintaining the body control the driver needs to place the car precisely. With all-wheel-drive sending power to all four corners on the Turbo and Carrera 4 models, the chassis communicates differently from a rear-drive competition car; the coilover construction is designed to work with that characteristic rather than against it.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec is a competition coilover developed specifically for drift racing, not an adapted fast-road product repositioned with a different name. The design priority is stabilising the vehicle body under the dynamic conditions of high-speed cornering: entry rotation, angle maintenance, and the sustained lateral loads that build through a long clip. Lowering ride height via the adjustable perch, with bump stroke set appropriately for the application, is central to the development approach – it shifts the centre of gravity and adjusts chassis geometry to favour the controlled oversteer competitive drifting requires. XYZ Racing’s stated development objective for this product was to bring drift control to an excellent condition, and the geometry-first approach to ride height reduction is where that work is visible.

Fitment for the Porsche 997 TURBO CARRERA-4 (2005-2011)

This kit covers the Porsche 997 Turbo and Carrera 4 chassis, reference code PO04-2-C, spanning the 2005 to 2011 model years. The cancellation kit included with this SKU is matched to this specific chassis – it handles the PASM electronic damping interface so the coilover hardware integrates cleanly with the factory ECU without triggering suspension fault codes.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Pillow ball top mountPillow ballPSolid pillow-ball (spherical bearing) upper — chosen for rigidity and precise camber adjustment, the sharpest steering response of the options.
  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
