XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Porsche 997 TURBO CARRERA-4 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2005-2011

The 997 Turbo Carrera-4’s rear-engine, AWD platform creates a very specific problem on a tarmac stage: the grip advantage from all four driven wheels and the mass concentration over the rear axle can be undone entirely by suspension that cannot manage high-speed compressions and crests at competition pace. Porsche’s standard PASM active damping system handles road surfaces capably, but it actively conflicts with aftermarket coilover hardware – which is why the cancellation kit here is the starting point, not an optional extra.

AWD on a tarmac stage is only productive when the suspension geometry allows it to work. On the 997 Turbo, the rear-biased weight distribution means front compliance and rear control need to track each other precisely – if the front end loses contact over an approach crest, the traction advantage from the rear axle counts for nothing in the next braking zone.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2011 Porsche 997 TURBO CARRERA-4

The Tarmac Rally coilover replaces the PASM-managed setup with hardware calibrated to absorb loading from imperfect sealed surfaces – broken tarmac, expansion joints, summit crests that the stock system treats as isolated events rather than a continuous sequence. Tyre contact is maintained more consistently across both axles, which in an AWD car is the difference between the drivetrain helping and the drivetrain hunting. Front-end steering feel becomes more linear over surface irregularities because the damper absorbs the jolt before it unloads the tyre, rather than filtering it electronically after the fact. Setup changes are direct and readable: adjust the coilover, feel the result in the next section.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Tarmac Rally specification from direct competition use on sealed stages – not adapted from a road-performance or track-day baseline. The damper is built to absorb the impact of uneven pavement and manage the shock loading that comes from crossing significant surface irregularities at competition speed, with the specific aim of suppressing chassis movement and keeping tyre traction consistent. For the 997 Turbo Carrera-4, the kit incorporates an electronic damping cancellation module that allows the coilover to operate cleanly alongside PASM architecture without triggering system faults. All calibration settings originate from XYZ Racing’s tarmac rally competition programme, meaning the base setup reflects the conditions the damper was designed for – not an approximation of them.

Fitment for the Porsche 997 TURBO CARRERA-4 (2005-2011)

Confirmed fitment for the Porsche 997 Turbo Carrera-4 on chassis code PO04-2-C, covering model years 2005 to 2011. The kit includes the electronic damping cancellation hardware specific to PASM-equipped 997 Turbo variants – standard Carrera-4 applications without PASM use a different part number.
