XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Porsche 996 TURBO 4/4S 2003-2005

The 996 Turbo 4/4S carries its flat-six engine behind the rear axle, and that pendulum weight distribution shapes every handling decision you make on circuit – from the moment you trail brake into a hairpin to the point the twin turbos arrive and the rear axle has to manage the torque. The all-wheel-drive system adds mechanical grip and stability, but it does not replace the need for properly matched spring and damper rates. A poorly configured 996 Turbo will push its nose wide mid-corner even with AWD pulling it straight; a well-configured one is one of the more communicative circuit tools in any paddock.

The XYZ Racing Circuit Master coilovers are built for sustained lap-time work of this kind. They replace the factory setup with hardware that can be configured precisely around the 996 Turbo’s specific weight balance, giving you genuine control over how the car loads each axle through a braking zone and how it rotates under a trail brake.

What this coilover does for your 2003-2005 Porsche 996 Turbo 4/4S

Reducing ride height lowers the 996 Turbo’s centre of gravity, cutting body roll through the wide, loaded corners where a heavy AWD car can struggle to stay neutral. The rear weight bias that defines this platform means the rear dampers are doing significant work: set them too soft and the rear gets lazy at corner entry; run them too stiff and you lose axle compliance on the kerbs, where the Turbo’s wide rear track wants to run wide. The Circuit Master’s 9720-way adjustment range means you are not choosing between two compromise positions – you are setting the car up for your specific circuit, your session length, and your tyre compound. The three-knob system lets you separate each axis of adjustment without cross-interference, which is the only way to genuinely resolve the handling balance on a rear-heavy platform.

About the Circuit Master

The Circuit Master is XYZ’s top-line coilover series, and the same core specification appears across their Racing Spec, Drift Spec, and Tarmac Rally programmes – hardware that XYZ’s own racing teams have run on circuits internationally over an extended development period. The headline figure is 9720 available adjustment combinations, delivered through three separate adjustment knobs with a fine-pitch architecture that keeps each change discrete and repeatable. The oil passage uses a deliberately small-bore design; the practical result is that under unusually large suspension travel – a heavy kerb strike or compression crest – there can be a brief fluid noise as the oil moves through the restricted passage. XYZ are explicit that this is by design and normal behaviour for this damper type, not a quality concern. The small-bore trade-off is intentional: the Circuit Master is engineered for smooth circuit surfaces, and the design delivers improved high-frequency precision at speed where it matters.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
