XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Nissan SKYLINE R32 1989-1994

On a sealed tarmac stage, the R32 Skyline faces demands the factory suspension was never asked to meet. Crests that unload the front axle, patched road sections that upset the rear mid-corner, and the sustained compression loads through fast sweepers all conspire to break tyre contact at exactly the wrong moment – particularly on the BNR32 GT-R, where the ATTESA E-TS torque-split logic depends on consistent rear grip to function as designed.

The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the Nissan Skyline R32 (1989-1994) is developed from sealed-stage competition experience. Every setting in this setup originates from tarmac rally use, not from road testing adapted for rally duty – the distinction matters when the surface you’re covering at speed looks smooth at reconnaissance but delivers sustained, variable jolts under load.

What this coilover does for your 1989-1994 Nissan SKYLINE R32

The central benefit is tyre contact retention across uneven tarmac. Where a standard or road-oriented damper will transmit a large single-hit compression through the body and allow the wheel to momentarily unload, the Tarmac Rally unit is calibrated to absorb that jolt and suppress the secondary body oscillation that follows it. On the R32 GT-R, this translates to more consistent front-to-rear traction balance – the kind the ATTESA system needs to distribute torque rather than default to rear-biased delivery under load. GTS and GTS-t owners running rear-wheel drive will notice the gain most sharply through crests and surface breaks, where body suppression keeps the rear from stepping wide under power.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally is a damper built for sealed-surface competition from the geometry up. Unlike a circuit or road setup pressed into rally service, the Tarmac Rally’s settings were derived entirely from XYZ’s tarmac rally racing experience – actual competition data shaping the damping behaviour, not theoretical adaptation. The construction is designed to absorb the impact of uneven pavement and manage the jolt across large compressions without converting that energy into body movement, which on a competition car directly undermines steering feel through the recovery phase. Tyre traction gains follow from this: a wheel that returns to the road surface quickly after a compression generates more contact time, and more contact time is more mechanical grip. Vehicle stability across repeated surface variations is the practical outcome – a car that reads as settled rather than nervous on variable tarmac.

Fitment for the Nissan SKYLINE R32 (1989-1994)

This coilover is built specifically for the Nissan Skyline R32 platform, covering the full 1989-1994 production span under chassis code R32. It applies across the R32 range – BNR32 GT-R, GTS-t, GTS, and related variants sharing standard R32 suspension mounting points. If running non-standard bracing or competition-modified suspension pickup points, confirm sub-variant compatibility before ordering.
