The MG4 is an unusual brief for a coilover: a rear-driven, battery-floored hatchback with weight in places the chassis tuners of the 1990s never had to think about. Roughly 1,650 kg of EV sits low and wide on the MG05 platform, and most of that mass is under the cabin floor rather than over the front axle. The Super Sport is built for owners who want to translate that natural low centre of gravity into actual cornering composure, rather than letting the soft factory damping mask it.

Damping is independently adjusted across 30 detents, so bump and rebound aren’t sharing a single compromise.

Spring rates are matched to the kerb weight and weight distribution of the MG05 platform rather than carried over from a generic hatchback specification. Ride height is set from the lower bracket, which preserves shock stroke – important on a heavy car where running out of bump travel is the fast route to a destroyed damper. Each kit is bench-tested before despatch.
