XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Lexus LC500 (URZ100) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2018-2026

The LC500’s factory AVS electronic dampers are tuned around a smooth ride and a fixed, low static height – the opposite of what a gravel special stage demands. Before this car ever sees loose surface at speed, that factory damping logic has to be removed from the equation entirely, which is what the cancellation kit half of this kit handles: it lets the ECU stop hunting for a signal from a damper that no longer exists, so the passive Gravel Rally units underneath take over completely.

That matters more on a 5.0-litre V8 GT than on almost anything else in a rally paddock. The URZ100 carries a heavy nose over a long wheelbase, and on sandstone, snow or silt that mass wants to keep travelling in a straight line long after the front wheels have turned in. A gravel-spec Lexus LC500 build is a rare thing, but the physics of loose-surface driving don’t care how unusual the car is – wheel travel and damper stroke decide whether the front end tracks or ploughs.

What this coilover does for your 2018-2026 Lexus LC500

Ride height goes up off the deck to clear ruts and washouts that would otherwise catch the LC500’s low factory splitter and sills. Damper stroke is extended well beyond road spec, so the front axle stays loaded through compressions instead of topping out and skipping across the surface. Spring rates are set for a car that’s landing off crests and absorbing chassis vibration at speed rather than cruising a B-road, which keeps the tyres in contact with the ground through a stage instead of skating over the top of it. Because the AVS cancellation removes the factory damper’s electronic feedback loop, the whole system behaves consistently regardless of the drive mode buried in the LC500’s dash – there’s no software layer second-guessing what the suspension is doing underneath a 5.0-litre V8 on gravel.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This range was built specifically for rally and rallycross, where the road surface is the most punishing a chassis will ever see. XYZ Racing uses an inverted tube design on the damper body so the assembly copes with the different demands of sandstone, snow and silt without the internals working loose. Stroke length and spring length are both extended well past a road or track coilover, giving the damper room to absorb chassis vibration and the sharp compressions of a high-speed bouncy stage rather than bottoming out. That extra travel is also what lets the kit shrug off the extreme cornering loads a rally car generates mid-turn, where the outside corner is briefly carrying far more than its static share of weight. Every spring rate offered in this range has been set using data from an actual rally racing team, not derived from road-car load figures.

Fitment for the Lexus LC500 (2018-2026)

This kit is built for the Lexus LC500, chassis code URZ100, across the full 2018-2026 production run, and includes the cancellation kit required to disable the car’s factory electronic damping so the passive Gravel Rally dampers can be run in its place. Confirm your build year falls in this range before ordering, since any factory AVS hardware changes across the run will affect what the cancellation kit needs to bypass.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
