XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Honda TL UA8-UA9 2009-2014

The fourth-generation TL UA8-UA9 carries a lot of car over its front axle – the 3.5 and 3.7 V6, the SH-AWD hardware on UA9, the long-wheelbase saloon mass – and the factory dampers were tuned to mask all of it under a layer of compliance. Strip that compliance away on a circuit and the chassis underneath is genuinely capable, but it needs damping that can cope with the weight transfer when you load the nose into a quick direction-change.

The construction supports both ride-height and damping adjustment so the car can be set up for the specific circuit being run. XYZ also offers a custom-build route on this damper: if the TL has been pushed well beyond standard – bigger aero, wider track, stripped interior, slick rubber – they will produce shock absorbers matched to the spec of the individual car and the circuit it will run. That is unusual on a saloon coilover at any price.
