XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Ford MONDEO (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2007-2013

The FO14-1-C Mondeo carries a lot of weight over the front axle for a car built to cross a stage flat-out, and on broken tarmac that mass wants to keep travelling long after the wheel has found the next crest. The Tarmac Rally coilover is built around that problem: a damper tuned to absorb a hard hit across a compression without kicking the body upright again, so the tyre stays loaded and the car keeps pointing where you left it.

This kit also carries the cancellation module for the Mondeo’s factory electronic damping, which matters here specifically – without it, the ECU keeps hunting for a signal from dampers that no longer exist, throwing warnings and second-guessing the ride. Cancel it out and the XYZ Racing dampers are the only voice the chassis hears.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2013 Ford Mondeo

Sealed-stage tarmac work is a repeated pattern of edge-of-grip cornering into sudden bumps and cambers, and that’s the load case this kit is set for. The valving is built to soak up a big hit – a pothole disguised by a jump, a broken edge on a hairpin exit – without the rebound spiking and unsettling the rear as the Mondeo transitions off camber. That keeps the contact patch working through the stage instead of skipping across it, which shows up directly as steering that stays honest under braking and a rear axle that doesn’t step out the moment the road surface degrades. With the electronic damping cancelled, none of that behaviour is filtered or overridden by a factory module trying to interpret inputs it was never calibrated for on this chassis.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Tarmac Rally line specifically around sealed-stage work rather than adapting a track-day damper for gravel-adjacent use. The valving is set to absorb the shock of crossing a large bump without transmitting that impact through to the body, which is the difference between a car that skips wide on a compression and one that stays settled. That control is aimed squarely at keeping tyre contact and traction through exactly the kind of surface changes a tarmac stage throws up mid-corner, rather than just softening the ride. The settings on this damper come directly from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally programme, so the compression and rebound curves reflect what’s actually needed when a car is being driven at the limit over a surface that changes metre to metre, not a generic fast-road compromise.

Fitment for the Ford Mondeo (2007-2013)

Confirmed for chassis code FO14-1-C, covering Mondeo models built between 2007 and 2013. This SKU includes the cancellation kit required to disable the factory electronic damping system on cars fitted with it from the factory, so the coilover runs its own damping curve without interference.
