XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Chrysler 300C 2005-2010

The 300C (CR01) is a heavy, long-wheelbase American saloon riding on Mercedes-derived LX architecture – which means it has more chassis credibility than its hot-rod looks suggest, but also a kerb weight north of 1,800 kg that ruthlessly exposes underspecified dampers. The Tarmac Rally coilover is built for that exact problem: holding a big, softly-sprung platform flat over broken sealed surfaces without pitching the nose or shocking the rear axle off line.

For a 300C used hard on tarmac stages, B-road blasts, or fast events where the road surface is far from a circuit’s billiard table, this is the XYZ Racing damper that takes the rally team’s settings and translates them to a road-legal coilover.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2010 Chrysler 300C

You feel two things immediately. First, the front-end stops bobbing over compressions – the dampers absorb the initial hit instead of letting the long bonnet float, so steering inputs you make mid-corner actually do what you asked. Second, the rear stays planted over mid-corner bumps that previously skipped the back axle sideways. On a heavy saloon like the 300C that translates to genuine cornering confidence rather than the soggy, delayed body movements the standard setup is famous for.

Ride height drops to fix the 4×4-ish factory arch gap, and you get a chassis that will accept a serious wheel-and-tyre package without the body rolling onto its bump stops. Traction off the line in the V8 cars also improves, because the damping holds the rear tyre in contact with the road instead of letting it skip under load.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally is engineered around impact absorption on uneven sealed surfaces – the discipline of rally stages run on patched, cambered, broken tarmac rather than smooth circuit asphalt. Its damper tune is designed to swallow large single hits (kerbs, compressions, surface changes) while still controlling body movement on the smooth sections between them.

The settings on this damper come straight from XYZ Racing’s tarmac rally programme. That heritage matters on a car like the 300C, where the damper has to manage real mass over real road surfaces. The valving is biased toward suppressing chassis movement after a big input – keeping the body composed so the tyre can stay loaded and put power and braking force down between bumps, rather than skipping across the surface.

Construction follows the same brief: damper internals that survive repeated heavy hits, with a tune developed for traction-first behaviour on the kind of broken tarmac that destroys softer road coilovers in a single weekend.

Fitment for the Chrysler 300C (2005-2010)

Built for the first-generation 300C, chassis code CR01, model years 2005 through 2010. Covers the full LX-platform run including SRT-8 examples and the diesel and V6 saloons and Tourings sharing the same suspension hardpoints.
