XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Volkswagen PASSAT B7 SEDAN 3C 4WD φ55 2010-2015

The 3C-generation Passat B7 4WD carries a lot of mass over the front axle, and the Haldex-based 4motion system is tuned from the factory to shut slip down, not encourage it. Getting this saloon to rotate and hold an angle on command means fighting both of those traits at once. The Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover is built around that specific problem: controlling body movement through the phase where the chassis wants to load up and grip, rather than break away cleanly.

XYZ Racing’s φ55 shock body gives the front strut the wall thickness to resist flex under the side loads a 4WD saloon generates mid-slide, and the drift-specific valving is set up to manage weight transfer as the car steps out rather than resist it outright. For a Passat B7 3C 4WD built for competitive drifting, that distinction between "stiff" and "controlled" is the whole point of the spec.

What this coilover does for your 2010-2015 Volkswagen Passat B7 Sedan 3C 4WD Φ55

Lower the ride height and adjust bump stroke correctly on this coilover and the car’s slide behaviour becomes noticeably easier to read and correct. The 3 external adjustment knobs let you separate compression and rebound response front-to-rear, which matters on a heavier AWD saloon where the front and rear axles load and unload at different rates through a transition. Because the Passat B7 3C carries more weight than a dedicated drift platform, the shock’s ability to control that mass rather than just stiffen against it is what keeps the car predictable as you catch and hold an angle. Ride height drop also lowers the centre of gravity, which reduces the amount of body roll the 4motion system has to compensate for mid-corner. The result on this specific chassis is a car that transitions into a slide with less snap and holds its line through the middle of the corner instead of hunting for grip.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

This coilover is built specifically for drift use rather than adapted from a circuit-focused platform. The valving and spring combination are set up to stabilise the car’s body while it’s turning at speed, so the driver can hold a clean angle instead of fighting constant weight transfer. Once ride height is dropped and bump stroke is set correctly, the difference in how the car’s slide can be controlled becomes obvious. The 3 external adjustment knobs use a small-oil-hole internal design, and on rough surfaces that passage can produce a faint noise as oil moves through it under compression – that’s expected behaviour, not a fault. XYZ Racing engineers the unit around circuit-surface use, so bumps and kerb strikes on a smooth track are within its working range without concern.

Fitment for the Volkswagen Passat (2010-2015)

This kit is built for the Volkswagen Passat B7 Sedan, chassis code VO34-2, 4WD 4motion variants, covering the 2010 to 2015 model years. It’s specced for the saloon body style on the 3C platform with the φ55 shock body – confirm your Passat is the 4WD version before ordering, as the drivetrain layout changes the required geometry and spring rate.

Spec your Passat B7’s height and damping to match how you actually drive it – configure yours below.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
