XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Volkswagen GOLF MK6 φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2012

The Mk6 Golf’s electronic damping control (DCC) is built around a φ55 strut design that constantly adjusts valving on the move – brilliant for road duality, but a fixed point that circuit-focused owners need to work around when fitting a fully manual coilover. This Circuit Master kit is the cancellation-kit variant specifically built for that φ55 electronic strut architecture, replacing the factory adaptive damping logic entirely rather than fighting it.

For sustained lap-time work, that matters more than outright grip. A Golf running session after session on a hot circuit needs damping that stays where you set it, corner after corner, without an ECU trying to soften the rear axle mid-braking zone.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2012 Volkswagen GOLF MK6 Φ55 (Cancellation Kit For Electronic Damping)

With the DCC system cancelled out, the Mk6’s front strut geometry responds directly to spring and damper input instead of an electronically moderated blend. Circuit Master’s 36-way damping adjustment lets you set compression and rebound independently front to rear, which on a front-driven Mk6 means dialling in enough front-end support to control nose-dive under braking while keeping the rear planted through direction changes. Monotube construction keeps oil temperature more consistent than a twin-tube design across a full session, so damping force doesn’t fall away on the tenth lap the way it might on the first. Height adjustment via the threaded body means ride height and corner balance can be set independently of spring preload, useful for getting weight transfer right on a chassis that was never designed with a fixed ride height for track use.

About the Circuit Master coilover

Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s top-tier circuit platform, developed and run by XYZ’s own racing teams across international events including Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally competition, so the damping characteristics come from actual grid time rather than bench testing alone. The headline figure is 9,720 possible damping combinations across the 3 external adjustment knobs, giving enough granularity to move from a soft trailing setup to a stiff qualifying set-up without swapping hardware. Those knobs work through small oil-passage valving, which is the tightest way to control high and low-speed damping independently – it’s also why you may hear a faint noise from the oil moving through those passages over big bumps; that’s the valving doing its job, not a fault. The whole design assumes smooth circuit tarmac rather than pockmarked B-roads, and is engineered around repeat-lap consistency rather than one-off comfort.

Fitment for the Volkswagen GOLF MK6 (2008-2012)

This kit is built for the Volkswagen Golf Mk6, chassis code VO19-C, covering the 2008 to 2012 model years fitted with the φ55 electronic damping strut. Because it’s the cancellation-kit variant, it’s matched specifically to cars originally equipped with DCC – check your strut diameter and factory adaptive damping fitment before ordering to confirm this is the correct variant for your car.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
