XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Volkswagen ARTEON 3H7 φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2017-2026

The Arteon 3H7’s long wheelbase and factory adaptive damper setup were built for motorway cruising, not sealed-stage pace notes. Fitting Tarmac Rally coilovers with the electronic damping cancellation kit strips out that factory DCC control layer entirely, replacing it with a manually set damper that behaves predictably from the first mile of a stage to the last.

This is a fixed-purpose kit, not a road-comfort compromise. It’s built for drivers using their Arteon on sealed-surface rally events or fast, uneven B-roads where the standard adaptive damper hunts for a setting it can’t find on broken tarmac.

What this coilover does for your 2017-2026 Volkswagen Arteon

Removing the factory electronic damping control and running a fixed mechanical damper means the Arteon’s suspension response no longer depends on a control unit reading the road a fraction of a second too late. Over the kind of surface breaks and mid-corner bumps you get on a tarmac stage, that translates into a chassis that loads and unloads consistently, corner after corner, instead of shuffling between comfort and sport maps mid-stage. The damper is specifically set up to absorb the impact of uneven pavement without kicking the body into a secondary bounce, which keeps the tyre’s contact patch working the way you need it to under braking and direction changes. For a car this size and weight, that stability under load is what lets you actually use the Arteon’s chassis on a stage rather than fighting the standard set-up’s indecision.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover is built specifically around sealed-stage use, where the surface is consistent tarmac but far rougher and less predictable than a public road. The damper tuning comes directly from XYZ’s own tarmac rally programme, so the compression and rebound characteristics are set to absorb sharp, repeated impacts from broken road surfaces without transmitting that shock straight into the body structure. That impact absorption is the core job of this damper: soak up the hit, keep the body settled, and keep the tyre loaded so grip doesn’t drop out mid-corner. For the Arteon application specifically, the kit includes the cancellation hardware needed to bypass the factory electronic damping system cleanly, so the mechanical damper is the only thing controlling wheel movement – no conflicting inputs from the standard DCC electronics.

Fitment for the Volkswagen Arteon (2017-2026)

This kit is built for the Arteon 3H7 chassis across the full 2017-2026 production run, specifically the variant fitted with electronic damping (DCC) from the factory. The cancellation kit is included as standard with this coilover so the electronic damping system is fully bypassed rather than left partially active, which is essential for the mechanical damper to control the car as intended.
