XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Toyota COROLLA E90/100/110 1987-2001

The Corolla’s loose-surface pedigree stretches from 1980s club-rally AE92 GT-i entries to the Corolla WRC’s championship campaigns of 1998-99. On gravel and snow, the front-wheel-drive E90/100/110’s MacPherson strut front suspension is the first thing tested: standard travel exhausts quickly over broken stages, and heat-soaked damper oil translates directly into fading response when consistency matters most.

The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover addresses that environment directly. Extended stroke front and rear creates a larger buffer between droop and compression, keeping the suspension working rather than hammering against its limits whenever the surface turns unpredictable.

What this coilover does for your 1987-2001 Toyota COROLLA E90/100/110

Running a Corolla on loose surfaces means working with the FWD layout’s weight transfer under braking: as mass dumps forward into a gravel hairpin, a standard damper already at its limit sends the front skittish. The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow’s longer travel keeps the front tyres in contact through that transition rather than spiking off the bump stop. Three independent adjustment knobs allow separate tuning of the key parameters – useful when base settings established on shakedown need revisiting as the surface degrades through the day. Critically, the extended oil volume and enlarged nitrogen gas charge resist the heat fade that accumulates during sustained competition use, meaning the damper’s character at the end of a long stage remains closer to what it was at the start.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

XYZ Racing built the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow for rally and rallycross competition – the discipline where suspension travel, not stiffness, is the primary engineering constraint. Compared to XYZ’s tarmac-oriented kits, the stroke front and rear is significantly longer, directly increasing the buffer distance that keeps the body stable over crests, camber changes, and terrain that a circuit-spec setup simply cannot absorb. The enlarged oil and nitrogen gas volumes are the other headline specification: more fluid mass and gas capacity means slower heat accumulation and greater resistance to temporary fade across extended competitive running. The three-knob configuration gives independent control over damping parameters rather than combining adjustments into a single dial. Drivers will notice an audible note through significant impacts – this is a function of the small oil-hole passage design, where fluid moves through a narrow internal channel under sharp loading. It is normal behaviour for this type of internals, not a fault.

Fitment for the Toyota COROLLA E90/100/110 (1987-2001)

This kit covers the Toyota Corolla across all three generations – E90, E100, and E110 – spanning the full 1987-2001 production period. That range takes in the AE92 and AE101 GT-i variants with their 4A-GE twin-cams as well as the broader Corolla family across all three body generations. Internal chassis reference is TO25. Confirm your specific variant against the fitment selector before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
