XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Toyota AVALON XLS (TYPE 2) 1994-1999

The first-generation Toyota Avalon was not designed with the strip in mind. The XV10 platform is long, nose-heavy, and driven through the front axle – built for motorway comfort rather than elapsed times. Under hard acceleration, that FWD layout fights against itself: weight transfers rearward, unloading the driven front wheels at the exact moment you need them biting hardest.

XYZ Racing’s Drag Racing coilover kit for the 1994-1999 Avalon XLS (Type 2) addresses that physics directly. Adjustable height at both ends allows the driver to set the car’s static weight distribution before the run, holding the nose into its loaded position through the launch sequence and keeping the front tyres in full contact with the tarmac.

What this coilover does for your 1994-1999 Toyota Avalon XLS (Type 2)

On a FWD platform under full acceleration, the front tyres carry two simultaneous demands: provide directional control and transmit all available engine torque to the road. The Avalon’s long wheelbase and front-heavy construction make managing that load transfer harder than on a shorter-wheelbase car. Height-adjustable front units let you pre-load the geometry to keep the front axle compressed at launch, maximising contact patch area from the moment the run starts. Greater tyre compression shortens the interval between throttle application and positive traction – tightening the first segment of the pass where the most time is typically lost. Rear height adjustment handles the other end, maintaining stability and keeping the car square as speed builds.

About the Drag Racing coilover

Designed for the 0-400 metre discipline across FWD, RWD, and 4WD platforms, the Drag Racing coilover range is built around one principle: getting the transmission tyres fully loaded from the first instant of acceleration. Front and rear ride height can be set independently, allowing the weight bias to be shifted toward the driven axle before the car leaves the line. On a front-driver like the Avalon, that means compressing the nose into the front suspension stroke to increase contact patch load at launch. The practical result is a shorter free-wheel phase – less time between clutch drop and meaningful grip – which reduces elapsed time across the critical early metres of any run. Rear geometry addresses the upper end, keeping the car tracking straight as velocity climbs through the remainder of the pass.

Fitment for the Toyota Avalon XLS (Type 2) (1994-1999)

This kit is built for the Toyota Avalon chassis code TO06, covering the XLS (Type 2) variant across the full first-generation production run from 1994 through to 1999. Confirm your car’s chassis code and trim designation before ordering to ensure correct mounting compatibility at the front strut and rear shock positions.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.
