XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Skoda SUPERB B8 WAGON φ55 2015-2026

The Superb B8 Wagon carries genuine mass behind the rear axle – a long load bay and estate roofline that most saloon-based rally builds don’t have to manage. On a closed tarmac stage that weight shifts hard through fast direction changes, and XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover is set up specifically to control it: a damper calibrated to keep the wagon’s rear planted over crests and compressions instead of letting the extended tail float.

This is a stage-specific spec rather than a fast-road compromise. Skoda tuned the standard B8 Wagon suspension for motorway comfort across a near-4.8-metre body; the Tarmac Rally kit resets that priority for repeated hard direction changes at competition speed on sealed surfaces, where body control matters more than ride isolation.

What this coilover does for your 2015-2026 Skoda Superb B8 Wagon

Fitted to a Superb B8 Wagon, this coilover changes how the car transfers load mid-corner and over stage-surface irregularities. The damper absorbs impact from uneven tarmac and larger bumps without kicking the body, which keeps the estate’s longer rear overhang from pattering loose on rough sections. Because the shock body is actively suppressed rather than left to transmit every hit into the chassis, tyre contact stays more consistent through compressions – directly increasing the traction you can lean on when you get back on the throttle out of a hairpin. The wagon’s stability tuning also helps settle the car’s weight transfer during the fast side-to-side transitions a tarmac stage demands, so the Superb’s estate body stops feeling like a handicap through quick esses and starts working as a long-wheelbase asset for high-speed stability.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover was developed specifically for sealed-stage rally use, where the surface is smoother than gravel but still throws up sharp, unpredictable impacts – broken tarmac edges, patched sections, crested compressions taken at speed. The valving is built to absorb those hits rather than transmit them, controlling body movement through the sudden loading that would otherwise unsettle the chassis and cost traction on corner exit. XYZ Racing draws the damping settings directly from its own Tarmac Rally racing programme, so the compression and rebound behaviour reflects what the team has found works when a car is pushed through repeated hard hits rather than a single fast-road drive. The result is a chassis composed enough to give the driver a predictable, controllable platform for committing to a line at speed, rather than one that reacts differently every time the surface changes underneath it. For a car the size of the Superb Wagon, that added stability is what keeps the extra body mass working for the driver instead of against them.
